Magnaflow exhaust

Hello everyone, i had a question on the magnaflow exhaust i have just bought i was wanting to replace the downpipe too which downpipe would i need to fit the magnaflow 2.25 catback?

I don't know of any. Magnaflow doesn't even make one for it.

Most aftermarket downpipes for us start at 2.5" and increase to 3" by the end to fit most of our aftermarket exhausts. Any particular reason you wanted to go with a 2.25" catback?

Edit: I'm sure the stock downpipe will be more than enough for a 2.25 catback. I don't see any reason to spend the money anyways...

Why didnt you go with 3inch?

Stock piping I believe is 2 1/4. Should bolt right up.

That exhaust is designed for the 420a, It may fit but its probably not the best choice for a turbo. It is also a cat back it doesn't bolt to the down pipe it bolts on after the cat.

I would try to cancel the order or send it back if not installed yet. It may be cheap but it'll end up costing you more in the long run when you gotta upgrade. If you keep it the stock dp should work.

How much is a "good deal?" Most 3" aftermarket exhausts go for like 120 bucks on Ebay. Just saying. Im also with what these guys are saying. Sounds like a hassle

Stock down pipe and a test pipe for the cat if your goal is to delete will be what you are looking for.

I got the magnaflow exhaust for a $100. I'm really just tryin to keep the car stockish and look nice not looking to gain hp or nothing this is just gonna be a commuter car for now. I'm gonna buy a awd 98 talon in the future and looking forward to make big hp in that. Just need to fix up this car so I can go to school and work back and fourth and I don't got a lot of money to spend.

Any aftermarket down pipe is going to be too big since that exhaust is for a non turbo.

I find it hard to beleive that no one has mentioned that 2.25 is the stock 1g exhaust size. Soo theres that.

Are you sure there using the same exhaust? there are a lot of people using magnaflow mufflers but they usually just buy the muffler and have the piping fabricated since magnaflow doesn't make a complete 3" exhaust for the gst/gsx

yeah they were can i still just bolt up the exhaust to the catalytic converter and still work?
