maft question

I have a few questions about the maft does it help with fuel cut and what do you have to upgrade to install I was just wondering because im hiting fuel cut around 5500 rpms at 10 to 12 pounds of boost and i tried every thing to fix the problem and nothing seem to work so im thinking it might be a mafs problem if i retard my timing all the way and it dont cut out it just pings bad.

To avoid fuel cut safely:

get the maft or an afc.

get bigger injectors.

Two things:

First of all, in order to avoid fuel cut, you need to understand what causes it. It's caused when the ECU sees to much airflow, so you need to either remove the fuel cut feature from the ECU, or you need to make it see less airflow. You can make it see less airflow by installing larger injectors, and then using a piggyback (VPC, SAFC, GCC, AFR, MAFT) to reduce the airflow signal.

If you install a MAFT by itself and keep the stock injectors, then you will probably make it worse.

Second, and more importantly: you should not be getting fuel cut at 10 psi, end of story. I don't know what your setup is, but I can't think of one that would really make that likely. I'll bet my full 3" exhaust that you have a bigass boost leak somewhere, inflating your airflow signal.

You're simply not flowing 27+ lb/min of air at 10 psi.
