ok, so I recently replaced my t-25 with a Big 16g. First off, a few things I wasnt ready for is the turbo lag and the fuel cut. As far as the turbo lag, I am preparing for solutions and I am not going to get on that topic on that here as there are pleanty of other posts talking about it. But second, that dreaded Fuel Cut. I am pretty sure that is what it is as many have discribed it as "hitting a brick wall". So I am starting to do some research for a solution. I understand DSMLink is ideal, but for now it is out of my range. Second is a GM MAF and Maf Translator. I am on a site now, and it states that people usually have problems with the factory MAF sensor at about 400hp. Is that true? I can gaurentee I am not anywhere near 400 or even 300 for that matter. I havent done a boost leak test yet but I am planning to this weekend. I am however noticing I am capable of more than 20psi. (not what I have it set to now). With supporting mods I would like to be able to take advantage of the possible boost, but I first need to decide what the next mod would be because like most of us on here, this is a step by step process. Any help and answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks DSMTuners.com for this awsome site!

update: here is the site that claims 400 with a stock MAF sensor

hey man first off welcome and good choice of turbo as far as the mods you want to do first they should go like this......Fuel pump 190 or 255 (i use a 255 with my 16g setup, also if you get a 255 your going to need an fpr). bigger injectors i have 680s but i have seen people run 550s on a 16g, your most likely going to want the biggest set you can afford so then its one less thing in the future you need to upgrade. Get something to tune the injectors with, i.e. dsmlink, safc something of the sort. i would also get a boost gauge if you dont already have one an exhaust system the list goes on and on but first go and do your fuel mods and tuning mods then get back on the site and check what to do next. Good luck and happy tuning man!!

Thank you for your imput. I am planning on doing injectors, fuel rail, a 255, and fpr next month. I was unsure as to what size injectors to get until now, so thank you. In addition, I already have a boost gauge, FMIC, Electronic Boost controller, and a 3" turbo back (not yet installed). Now, my understanding is that fuel cut occurs when the maf reads too much air is passing rather than running lean. Please correct me if I am wrong.

sounds like you have a good plan in mind. On my 16g setup im running a 255, 680s, aem fpr, 260bc cams, full 3in exhaust, fmic all welded hard pipes, maft, safc, 1g crushed bov and some other misc. things but that setup has done very well for me so good luck with yours!

I suggest 650cc injectors at least or if you want to kick it up a notch get 750's, but 650's will be suffice enough.
When the ecu sees too much air coming in it enables fuel cut to prevent further damage to anything else in the motor but it doesn't mean you are safe, you are running lean and over time if you do keep running like this you won't go very far.
I suggest you get your fuel system taken care of soon and find yourself a device to tune with as well such as dsmlink.

Thank you all so much for your imput. you guys are great. I think I know what my next step will be, FUEL SYSTEM!!! I don't want to cause any damage so I will go there first. for now, I will just leave those darn buttons alone on my boost controller and leave it set to 13psi. As far as injector size, I was planning on going with 750's. Once all is well with the fuel system, I will get the necessary mods for tuning as well as the maft. Again, thank you. However, one last question, is the oem maf really capable of up to 400hp or at least the air flow required to get to 400? I wouldn't think so its just that after reading that, it kinda threw me through a loop.

A member on this forum, illiclipse, which i happen to know in person as well runs a fp3052 and is running 11's, 400+hp, stock 2g mas, so yes it will be fine.
I myself opted for the gm maf as i wanted to clean things up a bit and be able to vent properly.
I will not be tuning with my maf-t however, i will sell it once i have the money to go dsmlink and still use my gm maf with it.
You can however tune with the maf-t but it'll only do so much. I'm looking to getting me a wideband as soon as the income check comes and messing with the maf-t and see what it does.
