before i get to question let me gives heads up. new to dsm. got a 97 tsi awd low miles. 5k the most on rebuilt motor. running 14 psi on a 14b or 16g not really sure. i bought the car and came with a turbo x rfl bov not recerculated. has air/fuel gauge not wide band. i know not best for reading air/fuel. but it does not bounce always stays rich wich im assuming is due to the bov. now to the question i foung a maf t with gm sensor for 80 dollars. the post is listed for a 94 eclipse. wondering if the year makes a difference on the maf t and what would i need to support it. i know alot say you need dsmlink for tuning. can i just use and tune using the maf t controller. also found a good prince on a dnp turbo manifold again is on a 94 model. can it bolt right up with no modes to my 97 tsi. i dont know is theres a difference and exhuast between the 94 motor and 97

Here's some reading material to help you:

Also, I would higher consider getting a different BOV if you are not going to use the MAF-T.

The RFL is one of the most poorly designed BOVs ever. It is a boost leak right out of the box and very very hard to recirculate. You probably won't notice a difference if you get the MAF-T but you will have a boost leak at the BOV. However with the MAF-T it will not affect your A/F ratio assuming you correctly place it after the BOV.

The 1g maft will not easily work with your 2g. Your best bet is to buy a 1g bov, install it, sell the rfl and have a better bov that is recirculated. Rfl's don't hold boost very well at all. Also consider that you will have to buy couplers and cut your upper intercooler pipe to install the gm maf sensor. One lase thing, don't believe anything that a/f gauge is saying. Take it out and sell it also. It is no where close to being accurate. After you get a good bov in there test for boost leaks and have fun.

Invest in a wideand, sell the maft and get the one you need for your car, make life easier so you can get out there and enjoy the car.

Get a aem or a innovative wideband, both are great with link when or if you decide to get it.
