I picked up this FP30 .68 A/R housing and I'm wanting to machine it to fit a HX40 can anyone point me in the right direction? I've heard TurboGlenn is the man to talk to.

Austin, Ian and James are great guys. Didn't know if this was uncharted territory or not, hence why I asked LOL. I saw turboglenn's pics on flicker but didn't know if there was more than meets the eye to this.

Nice turbine Jared ;)

white92talontsi, they have been talking about making them, nothing yet.

Isn't FP making housings for those turbo's now?

Just called to find out some more info and the response was "That project is still on going". I asked if they had any estimation of completion and was told no.

I love these proven housings but hate the prices LOL.

Keep us posted on the needed procedures. And prices!

Lol thanks Seth, daps to you for making this happen. So glad I ran across you on FB!! I feel like this combo will be a bolt on monster!!
Machining the housing and rebuilding the 40 are going to run me about $320

Could you please keep this thread updated! I have a FP3052 which has the FP30 .68 A/R housing. I would like to see what comes out of this.

Shockey I sure will, it will be a month or two till I get it back and installed but ill be sure to come back with dyno results.

That housing will not work with a Holset HX35 or HX40 the register is already cut down which means the HX35/40 will sit too far down inside the housing. The FP31 housing is the one that has been machined to fit and it doesn't have the register cut down.

We are still working on it but it has been back burner since we have some bigger projects that have taken priority. I should know something next week hopefully.

some eye candy for you guys.

I really wouldn't say there's more than meets the eye, just adding and or removing material to the right tolorances. I learned working turbos over at majestic in Waco tx back in 2000 in order to move there and work then a bad motorcycle accident crippled me up and I never left Nebraska. I stayed machining and playing with anything uturbo I could find.

It's really not all that hard, if some one tells you it is they just want a bigger chunk of money from you or they are new to machining, I've loved metal since highschool way back in a land before time called the early 90's LOL

I did my own first then a few local ones then several for members on here in everything from T3, T4, Fp30 and more, even some mitsu housings that I never thought would work, but just took a little different apreoach then the rest of them

I'm actually planning on doing this as well. I don't feel like waiting for FP (sorry Michael) because I have the money right now, I need to remove my 14b in the near future anyway, and machining the housing should be straight forward. I'm also thinking about running FP's custom vband o2 housing to bolt right up to my down pipe. Can't wait to get this holset on!

I feel like this combo will be a bolt on monster!!

Check this out, if you haven't already:

Also, I've heard nothing but good things about Turbo Lab.

Well, I just finished the swap. The FP31 housing (machined by freelancer black_gst) fit my 7blade HX40 PERFECTLY and I had virtually no clearance issues during install. Just needed to dent the water pipe a little bit which made my water pump o-ring leak...whatever, easy fix. I even got to keep one of my fans! If it weren't for the wastegate, I'd be able to keep both.

Also, I wanted to mention that FP's custom vband o2 housing bolted right up to my downpipe, no issues at all.

Here's a pic before I bolted it up. I'll take some pics of it installed soon...
