The battery voltage reading on my safc 2 is like 14.0 when I start up but it drops and it will drop by like .3 volts when my lights are on. I think the lowest I've seen it was like 12.7 but I haven't watched it very much. I don't know if it is just getting a bad reading or what. Any thoughts?

When the car is running and you turn things on it tends to make the alterantor work trying to keep the battery charged I would get the alternator and battery checked out as it could be signs of "going bad"

Volts are going to read higher when you first start the car till the alternator gets the battery charged to where it needs to be, then volts drop and regulate. Sounds completely fine and normal to me.
