i have a 98 eclipse 2.0 NT i have rebuilt entire engine and i do mean entire everything is brand new have drove it twice less than a mile together. drives great no noises but reads less than 5psi when i start it then it drops to unreadable on gauge everything was done as repair manual said it should be. please help im at the point after $4000+ ima blow the thing up in my back yard

That device is so simple I'd be very surprised if it didn't function properly.

yes i did with engine assembly lube

brand new and has been tested for proper function

would i need to get a tee to go off block to sender and oil pressure gauge could this be problem since im running straight from block to gauge?

Maybe the sender is bad.

just pulled the sender and replaced with a mechanical gauge, I did have to use 3 adaptors to get from the block opening down to the fitting for the actual line that feeds the gauge- could this be the problem? Nothing leaks, it all sounds good, drives fine, but worried I'm gonna smoke this engine

theres oil in tube going to gauge in engine bay. when i start it reads about 5psi then drops to nothing. when i was on road it would pick up to just under ten @ 2000-3000rpm then drop to 0psi when i shift oil goes to gauge when it reads pressure but doesnt read constant presure. i know oil pressure isnt constant one # but there should b constant pressure when running. one very small leak cant find it because i no longer have access to lift but its somewere on back of motor but without getting car in air can not pin point it. when car is running no oil constanly dripps of free flows so at least i know its very small leak. is there anything that even a very small leak would cause loss of oil pressure?new fittings for guage are not leaking and oil is getting to the head pulled valve cover after i shut it down oil up top so i know oil is cirulating but not building propper pressure any ideas i dont care to double check things this car is very fast and extremly fun i just want it fixed n working agian. any suggestion would be helpful and grasious.

no 420a motor crank only with crank timing gear on crank infront of oil pump then harmonic balancer. y u know wats wrong hopefully?!

not me im really only familiar with the 4g63t in the dsm so i was looking for information for me without throwing out a ton of guesses.

did you install an aftermarket oil cooler or the stock one without pre filling it

I would stop driving it and pull the oil pump and check it out. If you have verified that there is no oil pressure with an aftermarket gauge, than it is pretty apparent that you have an issue. It could be something as simple a loose oil pickup, or it could be a bad pump.

didnt install a aftermarket but there are no lines for oil leading out of the motor so i assumed that there wasnt a oil cooler.

im done trying to guess but im subscribing for more info, good luck with the issue

:ohdamn:OMGil tube line was pinched behind firewall cover inside car now reads strong 5psi and raises as you give it gas
