do I have to hook up oil pressure gauge to the back of my block.I'm asking because I'm using oil filter sandwich adapter to feed my turbo oil.I'm only using one fitting onthe adapter to feed my turbo but there is another one that I plugged off.Instead of keeping it plugged can I hook up my oil pressure gauge to it?

That should be fine. The idea is to monitor the oil pressure of whatever is providing your turbocharger with lubrication. Having the gauge measuring the pressure at the back of the block will only tell you whether or not the engine is being lubricated; it won't tell you too much about the turbocharger.

Isn't the oil pressure at the filter higher than compared to the block? I've heard that can cause problems, not to mention lowering the oil filter even closer to the ground.

I always heard stories about sandwich adapters placing the filters much too low to the ground, but any additional pressure could be mitigated by using a restrictor.

I did use a different filter because of the thread difference but the adapter is only 1" .Even with the original filter it didn't make no difference.Just dont make the mistake I did.I thought I could use the other nipple on the adapter as a return from my turbo.the oil backed up in my turbo and blew some oil past the seals out the exaust side of it.WAM!
