oil pressure

Oil pressure when cold should be around 50psi, It will go down to like 10psi when the car is warmed up and its really hot out.

Underboost, that bad boy will sky rocket upwards of 70psi +. It kind of all just depends on how you step on the gas.

I'm in Texas and mine never reaches below 25psi.

LOL what kind of oil do you use?

like stated above, before reaching correct operating temp it should idle about 50psi. When the vehicle is completly warmed up you most likely will idle between 10-16psi in warm weather. Interstate cruising W/O boosting will set u at about 50-55 psi. running boost will always raise your oil pressure at WOT. Do you have a catch can or RRE crankcase breather?

I use Castrol 10w-30. It's always been that way.

HMM? don't know, but we both know that the little extra oil pressure you get won't hurt anything thats for sure.;)

I've always used Discount brand 10W-30, and my hot idle oil pressure was always 24-25psi. After I rebuilt though, it seems to have gone down to 12-20psi. I'm not sure why, though...

im rebuilt with only 10k on the motor. of course the oil pumps new and i use
mobil 1 10w-30 full synthetic. it idles between 10-15.

hey what u guys think about oil catch cans. are they worth getting?

Only if you set it up correctly, otherwise you'll just mess with your vaccume.

P.S. save your money when buying that greddy oil catch can, the white/clear hoses pretty much dissenagrate when they touch anything hot, leaving you with a nice vac leak. Stick with some thick black hoses, and maybe get a oil catch can from jegs or something. They usually come with a little nipple on the bottom so if you place it right you can just drain it during an oil change instead of having to remove it everytime.

Mine is a remote location under the passenger side headlight/bumper area.
