looking to get alittle help with my td05h big 16g

on my 97 gsx with full frontmount intercooler looking to find out where exactly i am to connect the other end of my boost controller after ive connected it to the wastegate actuator


it is indeed a big 16g and i have a turbotonics boost controller looking for little insight here thank you very much


there is no nipple on the side of the housing like some of them

Well you have to get a fitting welded into your jpipe or switch for an ebay compressor housing with one built in.... Or be like me and upgrade to the amount of boost it wants to push out

I always have my MBC connected to the intake. That's the actual boost the engine sees after the pressure drop from FMIC.

I had my local welder weld a 1/8NPT weldable bung into the J-pipe and then screwed in a 90* 1/8NPT to barbed nipple. There is also a thread on how to tap the compressor housing too if you wanted to go that route.

I forgot most people have aluminum J-pipes while mine is steel so if yours is aluminum, you'll have to buy an aluminum bung and a welder that can weld thin aluminum

Be careful in what welder you take it to. Aluminum that thin is not easy to weld. I've seen quite a few shops around mess up similar operations such as that.

First off is the boost controller a ball and spring controller or a bleeder style boost controller. Second you can use a port on the throttle body and it will work just fine.

I drilled and tapped the compressor housing when i had my e316g. I beleieve it was a hole for a coolant line bracket. I then put a 1/8 npt hose barb fitting in it with teflon tape. Obviously do this with the compressor cover off so you dont get shavings in the turbo.

Good call, that would be helpful information. I peeked around a bit and found several different styles of TurboTonics controllers
