Basically, I'm looking for information from members that have dealt with this situation already.

When having a single blown piston and only 1 needs replaced. Would most of you opt to replace all 4 pistons for a higher cost or a signal piston for just under half the cost of a set of 4?

I may be coming to this cross road and am trying to get an idea of potentially what to do.

So let me hear your ideas on what you would do and why.

Also to note the pistons have maybe 6-8k miles on them.

Depends on mileage and wear. Personally if I were to pull the others out in my block and the skirts appear to be in good shape I would not sweat it, you would just wanna make sure its balanced to the others. Im currently in the same boat have one bad weiseco in a motor that spun its bearing (got motor from a friend) with about 100 miles on it.

Compression is perfect between the 3 others and as said, I only have maybe 6k miles on all 4 currently from a fresh rebuild.

It's either $160 for a new piston, rings, and pin. Otherwise I could opt for a set of 4 for $450. Just seems like a high price for a single assembly.

Thats a rough call, your talking a price diff right around 300. with 6k Id deff pull them inspect the skirts really scrutinize them.
One new piston properly balanced to the rest of the assembly will not affect engine operation. But 160 is alot for one piston I know mine are right around 100 last I checked.

This is were you need to make a judgement call for yourself based on the condition of the others and what your comfortable with.
