When i make sharp turns like to go into a parking space or a U turn i have to give the car gas to make the turn it kind of feels like the car is trying to stop and you can hear the inside rear tire start to break traction for a second as it tries to keep pace with the out side tire. I can't figure out what is doing it. I have changed just about everypart of my drive train short of the drive shaft it self. Next time you guys get together i will go out to sac and you can see what i mean. It just feels the same way it did before i got the new tranny. I am starting to go crazy i don't want to snap any 4 bolt rear axels like i did with my 3 bolt rear end.

after looking around the 3kgt boards and one of there members brought up the idea that it could be the lsd unit in the rear end of the car. my question is if one of our cars came with out lsd in the rear would it still act like this? my original rear end was a non lsd 3 bolt rear end.

befor i put the rear end in the car i did notice that when i turn one side the other side will turn the other way. I don't know if that is a sign of a lsd or an open rear end.

center diff itself can lock in couple of different ways (from abuse). In ether way, the effect is the same your car feels like a truck in a 4x4 mode. You will feel wheels “skip” while making tight turns.

yea. I just put in a new/rebuilt tranny with a good center diff but it is still acting like it is welded.

did you ever mess or take off the drive shaft... if you ever mess with that or move it... it needs to go back exactly the same way it was taken off... seem like you have a problem with the transfer case to the rear end... your drive shift might be miss aline during your 4-bolt swap...:thumb:

Hmm that is intresting. I didn't know that. How would i balance it or get it the right way?

ummm... i don't know but, i know that if your going to take the drive shaft apart... you were sopose to get a white out and mark a line through it so it can be put back exactly the same way... everything that spins in or on your car is balance... so when you move it around it will throw off the balance... look at it as a wheel... if you move those wight on the wheel when you drive your car it will start to vibrate....

I didn't take the drive shaft apart. When i put in the 4bolt rear end i unbolted the drive shaft from the rear end then pulled the rear end off then put the new one on and just matched the bolts to where the drive shaft was and rebolted them up. If my drive shaft is not balanced how would i get it rebalanced?

i will be home on sat after 12pm and helping a friend fix his car in my garage... so be there then...

If you jack the car up and spin a wheel, and the other one spins the opposite way, you have an open diff. If they both spin the same, its an lsd. Your car is acting like it has one of three problems. The VC is somehow been siezed ( like it was welded ), the center diff has broken and is acting as if it had been welded, or the rear diff is broken. Driveshaft alignment will cause the car to shudder as speed increases, but wont affect the tires. And it doesnt need to be rebalanced, just re aligned.

Thanks josh, before i put my rear end on the car when i spun one of the rear axels the other spun the oposite direction so that would mean it is an open rear end right? So would the rear tire skiping be a normal thing for an open rear end to do?

i was wondering y it said that my server is not allowing me to log into sac-dsm... i though it was only me...

Who's GOing to SacRaceway on 10/05/03(SUN-North vs. South)... well if anyone is going i well be there...

How much is it? I really want to go so i can see what kind of times my car will pull the only thing i am scared of is snaping a rear axel but every one seems to tell that 4 bolts are really hard to snap.
