im looking to make a very streetable 11 second car, and i already have a jrc fmic, dejon intake mainfold, uicp, licp, maf/maft, and dejon intake with a 9 inch k&n to bring all that air in... the maf is after the 1g bov.... everything else is stock....im looking to get a mid 13 with this set up at the strip later next month....

i have created a list of things that i want to get in the order, but im not sure about its effectiveness in getting me to the 11s, also i want to build this car so that if i ever want to, i can surpass 11 seconds (ie even if a 190lph pump will get me to 11 seconds, i want to get a 255 hp and a fpr and everything, so that if i ever want to slap on a bigger turbo i didnt waste 100 on a 190 that i wont be using)

my list is basically dsmlink (i will be getting that soon hopefully) then evoiii exaust manifold and o2 housing, and bucshur 3 inch exaust all the way back (cat and all) then an act 2600, apr studs with a new gasket, aem wideband, then some 750cc's, a 255hp or a 290 supra, a fpr, a fuel pressure gauge, then an evoiii 16g, and some electronics to top it all off, blitz sbc i-d with power meter and a blitz turbo timer...all of which i have found for a total price of about 4.8k (i dont know where im getting this money from yet, so this is ALLL speculation and subject to change) but then i was thinking, if im going big later, ill probably want some tubular exaust manifold or something, a completely different turbo, and ill probably end up porting my head, which means i could probably just sit tight on a bunch of things, ie gasket and studs (just keep the boost low....lower...) and keep the stock 02 and exaust manifold since i dont know if im going with a t4 or what....

basically i just want to know two things, will my hypothetical set up listed above be able to pull off an 11.7 or somewhere around there, and if so, what part of that set up should i go for after dsmlink...

Your gonna need
a)losta boost
b)lotsa fuel
c)lotsa air flow

so...
you need

Evo 16g
660cc injecters
255lph
port that 1G mani
your fmic will be fine
do some water injection
$1000 total
add about 350 shot of nitrozzz (haha j/k)

next...
dsmlink
you'll need a clutch
exhaust 3 inch
$1500 total

Grand total of $2500 and I got you in the 11's there.

theres a huge crack on my 1g mani which is why ive been considering the evoiii exaust manifold, and the evoiii o2 housing to prevent creep....but yes, all of those things are on the list i made...

Well yeah if you have cracks either weld them or get a 2G mani will be fine. $50 for a 2G and that will be good for 11's. As far as creep, just get the 35mm flapper for the evo 16G and port the 02 housing. I'm trying to just save you money man!! LOL

ttyl!

Nice setup, yeah just take that 1g mani out and scoop up a 2g mani for like $50, like LoUd91tsiFWD said. only thing that i would add to is port the 2g mani. but if your considering the evoIII exhaust manifold, i would say go with SBR cast mani. the SBR mani not ported is bigger then a ported evoIII.

and if your only looking for 11.7, then the evoIII should get you there. i glanced at the 1/4 times only 5 tuners here have broke into the 11's with an evoIII; with the fastest only going 11.8. and since you might think about going faster i would say just go bigger now. instead of having to upgrade later. i would recommend a 50 trim, or the proven a 20g both should get you to 11's easier then the evoIII.

last thing if you are going to get the act2600, don't forget about a flywheel, ACT streetlite or Fidanzza.

With a 90's AWD. I would knock out the freemods 1st
Hack the MAS or go 2gMas.Forget the GM Maf.If you want to go a lil extra $ HKS VPC
Block off the EGR $free$
Eliminate BCS $free$
Re-wire Fuel Pump for better Volt. Cheap Mod on VFAQ $est 10.00
Tech Edge Wideband 02 $around 200-300
EVO 3 16g. Port match mani.coll. to exhaust coll. on exh. housing $used 16g around 400.
Good cams. FP/HKS $around 400.
2g Pistons on 1g Rods $ 300 +plus machining if you got the rods
Cyclone Intake Mani. $ around 100-200
Evo 3 O2housing ported to match exh. housing $around 100
255 lphr Fuel Pump $around 100
FPR$around 100
550's would still be good. But 650's or higher would be as well with tuning $around 100-300
ACT2600lb clutch or equivalent. Some shops have good equivalent without out pedal press.
DSMlink would be nice but it is not necessarilly needed.

Tuning is an issue of getting the performance out of your parts.
Good luck

Are you lookin to do this on pump gas or on race gas. Honestly either way unless your good at tuning or know a place around you that is I would go a little bigger than the 16g. A 20g or even better a 50 trim will run you in the ball park of the 16g anyway. That way you don't go out buy a turbo descide you want bigger like 90% of 16g guys and have to either sell it or bite the bullet. With a 20g or 50trim you can ligitimately get into the 11's w/o being a tuning wizard. All you need is a wideband and a safc and you can get a 50 trim into the 11's and with dsm link the sky is the limit. Now I know there are a bunch of small turbo guys that are gonna come bash this and be like i did this and I did that with my 16g and it's plenty. They are right you CAN do what your lookin for with a 16g BUT the 20g or 50 trim will do it on PUMP and and do it a lot easier. Just my .02. By the way I am also a 90 awd guy i'm thinking about going 4bolt rear so i cazn launch hard without snapping anything maybe you might want to look into that ust a thought.

ok so first of all, i dont plan on doing this any time soon, and would like to do it on a 16g, and am willing to wait,... i have no experience tuning, but i do have the following, as in they are in my room right now, paid for already (so telling me to do stuff like get a 2g maf and extrude hone intake manifold is kinda stupid)

dejon intake manifold
dejon upper intercooler piping with a 3 inch gm maf and maft
jrc fmic
dejon lower intercooler piping
dejon j pipe
dejon blow through intake
9 inch k&n airfilter

i would like to go with an evoiii because it is very stock proforming and looking, and my dejon j pipe wont have been for nothing, also i am looking for a very streetable car, so something that spools fast is high on my list, and if i were to change the internals, i would buy evo8 pistons and rods and just slap those on, cuz the bump up in compression would allow for faster spool as well...(but then while getting those i would say #### it and probably end up getting fully upgraded internals that are fully balenced with a knife edge crank and everything,....i tend to try and go all out when buying stuff, but since there are so many different turbos its hard to choose...)

a good tune is def. needed. you could have all those parts, but definately bring it on the dyno to tune.

I hear ya man I know how it is having bought parts and wanting to get to your goals w/o having to buy new stuff but I'm tellin you that those guys you see takin a 16g into the 11's aren't just joe schmo with a safc those guys tune the hell out of those setups and pretty much max that turbo out around 44lbs. I'm just trying to be honest with ya I'm not a tuning guru either that's why I got a turbo that will put me in my desired power range with minimum tuning and pump gas cause worse case cenario you meet your goals and have a good setup best case you tune that really god and exceed your goals without having to upgrade turbos again. You think it's bad having a j pipe that you can't use try having a 400 dollar turbo that's like an old gf you lost interest in, you still lover her but she just don't cut it anymore. If your going to do some weight reduction than you might get to where you want with the 16g but i don't think your trying to gut out part of your car. If you do go the 16g route i say good luck to you and I hope you prove me wrong.

Like the other guys said, don't waste your time/money going to a 16G. The performance increase just isn't there over a 14B. A 50 trim is a fantastic street turbo. Hang that on a good running motor along w/more fuel and you're there. Skip the Walbros and get a Supra FP. Toss on some 750's or 850's and you're there.

Check out the link to my car, I've done pretty much what you are asking on a full weight car, bumpers and all. Not to say it's the end all, just an example.

not getting mad at anyone, its just a few of you were telling me to get stuff i already have, ie 2g maf vs a 3 inch gm, even tho i already have a 3 inch gm maf, my MAXIMUM expectations for the parts ive bought is a 12.7, but thats best case senario, i plan on running around a 13.5, maybe something a little lower, well find out when i go on sept 14th....

If only it were as easy as getting parts people tell you to buy, Throwing them on and running an 11sec time.

You got that right my friend !!! Tuning and driving are going to be essential keys to your success. Don't be to proud to accept some tuning help and get in as much seat time as you can. Best of luck to you.

back on this topic again... i know it aint winter yet, but ive been working on my car for a while and it doesnt look like ill be finished any time soon (school taking up a lot of time, along with football... and i keep adding projects) it looks like im going to get a 3kgt vr4 fuel pump to replace the stocker (flows 174 lph, and is denso type) then it looks like ill be buying a sbr evo3 size exaust manifold, and buschur racing's 3 inch cat back... then saving up for the downpipe and cat.... since i dont think that the stock exaust and the catback will match up so i wont be able to use it til i get their downpipe and cat...then

dsmlink, an evo3 16g, a bigger 02 housing.. (having a hard time desiding which...) and an act 2600...with a fidanza flywheel... then

its on to some 750 cc injectors and an aem fuel rail, a aeromotive fpr, a fpg, and a supra fuel pump...(im getting the 3kgt pump for 20 bucks... lay off...) then

later i will get a blitz dc3 turbo timer, blitz sbc i-d ebc, and a blitz power meter and spend most of my life tuning the car as best as i can...

the spaces are for different stages... since i my wallet doesnt have the brain power to comprehend buying all those parts at once....

i hope to be into the 12 by the end of the first step tho, and by the second low 12 and maybe even break the 11's but i dont know if ill have the fuel to do that... by the third i think i should deffinately be into the 11's.... after i get to that point ill start thinking about 10s and what to do from there, but my plans are to redo the suspension and brakes first, since an 11 second car is pretty rediculously fast...

any comments?

edit: forgot to mention that im trying to drop a lot of weight as well, the ac is going, as are the windsheild sprayer systems... along with the rear seats...(honestly, who can fit back there?) and a few other things... ill probably chop out the whole sound system and make a new one with just two speakers and a head unit... something light.... any lightening ideas are welcome...

Wow, you're wanting 10's now? It's good to dream big, man. If you aim for the sky, you might hit a mountain top. 11's require a good amount of tuning but 10's will require just that much more. Taking your back seat out isn't going to be any huge weight difference...the whole assembly might weigh in at a good...15lbs. But, if you're going to take your back seat out, might as well take the rear seat belt assymblies out too, which for their size are pretty hefty, take out the spare tire and tools, and if you want, you can use arcticTSI's headlight mod, which removes the whole pop-up headlight ass. (including motors) and switches you to a set of driving lights. Should knock off a few punds with that =) Personally, I'm fond of my music, so all my bangin' audio is still in the car...and the urge to put in a couple of subwoofers is so unbearable, but I always think of the extra weight.
