Lookin for info on this 20g....

Hey guys... I just picked up this DSM-EVOIII TD05-20G for a great price. Just cant find any info on it and mot sure who makes it (whether its just a cheap ebay knock-off or not) Any info would be greatly accepted...

Man, should of done more research. Who knows. It might hold up.
Anything that says type dsm is a dead give away. I don't think even real mhi turbo's have anything dsm or evo on there.

Yup definetly a knockoff. As far as im concerned there is no such thing as an EVOIII 20g.

well right now i have an ebay 16g on there, and its in dire need of a rebuild, and I got this for just about the same price... so I thought why not... the 20g's got 1/4 of the shaft play, and the hotside housing doesn't have any cracks in it... i'm just curious as to how much different it will respond in comparison to the 16g...

No offense but if the first ebay turbo is on the way out I wouldn't be surprised if this one is too.

Yup definetly a knockoff. As far as im concerned there is no such thing as an EVOIII 20g.

To go a step further, Mitsubishi never built a 20G with a DSM-style TD05H cover. There are a handful of turbo shops that built them that way, and China builds them that way.

Fake. Whenever you see all that bold caps stamped or etched on it its fake.

Generally any time you see a turbo that has TURBOCHARGER printed on the front housing, it's going to be a knock-off; which is the case here. Some eBay turbo's hold up really well, I know a lot of V8 guy's are making some serious power with eBay turbos and are getting good life out of them. MasterPower is a big brand name used and it's a cheap eBay unit, that's where they got their roots from.

I will tell you now that the ebay 16g is better than the ebay 20g. My suggestion is to swap the compressor wheel and the compressor housing. I know i have ran them both. The ebay 20g is not the best street turbo.
