Congrat's nice video! How is your breaking at the end of the track? Can you slow down pretty easily?

Thanks! No problem slowing down! The stock dual piston's do pretty good for now.

GREAT job Talondave! It would be great to put your results here too: Holset Turbos, RESULTS ONLY (COMPLETE INSTALLED SYSTEMS)

Matt, check post #24 in the results thread. :sneaky:

I actually posted that immediately after the 11.88 pass happened figuring there wasn't much real-world info on that thread for the HX35 in a .70 a/r housing in case someone was curious.

I'll be updating the post with any added info as it becomes available....dyno graphs, faster timeslips, etc.

I should have some dyno number's at the shootout.

Not going to be able to do any dynoing at Buschur's. Im not going to have the DSS drive shaft in time. I dont trust my stock drive shaft with 60+ people standing around!

Very nice! Nice to see some nice times on a hx35! I am going back to the track sometime this weekend in yet again a search for 10's! I just need another 1.6X 60 ft and a clean run and I am there!

I ran at the shootout and got a best of--

60"--- 1.787
330"--- 5.098
1/8--- 7.724
mph-- 96.89
1000"-- 10.021
1/4--- 11.940
mph--- 118.97

Im really happy with the trap speeds, but i was spinning and didn't get a better et!!

Did some weight reduction today!! Took out the rear bumper suport, took out all the windshield wipers and motors, took out the heater core, took the stock carpet out and replaced it with black felt from walmart, took off the dust shields behind the rotors, took off all the heat shields under the car, getting rid of the full exhaust this weekend and replacing it with a ( side exit exhaust ) tomorrow. More to come off!!!!
This car is a drag car now as i picked up a 93 awd laser for a DD.

Im going to take some pics of the car this weekend for you guy's that are interrested!!!

I weighed the stock exhaust and it cam to 44lbs OMG! Bigger pipe weighs more. I wonder what full 3" exhaust weighs.

Bumpers weigh 33lbs. Take out the passenger seat if you havn't already. That sucker weighs 40lbs. The back seat bottem and tops combine for about 35lbs. Running 3 gallons of gas vs. a full tank takes out 75lbs, of course.

I have no idea what the 3" exhaust weighs, but it feels pretty darn heavy!!
The rear bumper support feels like it weighs alot more than that!! Maybe not.
All the seats are coming out ( not the driver seat ofcorse)! Cant think of any thing else to strip off!!
Any body else have any ideas?

Im wanting to get as close to a 10s pass befor this season is over!! Im building the motor this winter, but im not done playing with the stocker yet!!!!

OMG
Just being realistic, just trying to point out the fact that there are probably a thousand other things you could take off your car before you take the dust shields off.

Well then point them out, Im trying to take every thing off this car that dont need to be there!! Its all going to add up wether it weighs 1oz to 100lbs! Im asking for input on what to take off, not criticized!!!!

What else have you eliminated other than what's in your post a few up?

If you were pretty serious, you could probably get rid of your rear brakes entirely if you have the "big" brakes up front. There's so much stuff. Do you have current pics of the interior?
Maybe try and find someone who has a pretty light 1g, and get some ideas from there too.

Do you think i will have trouble slowing down at the end of the track?

Thats about it so far!!

As soon as the wife gets back from Ohio, i will have pics.

That wouldn't be good if it didn't!
The rear brakes really don't contribute much to the stopping compared to the fronts. A lot of old musclecar guys did this back in the day and managed to stop heavy cars. I've also seen many "bracket" chassis cars have brake pads equivalent to a Geo Metro or smaller and some are running very fast, and some have parachutes to help just in case

What is your car weighing currently?

My current 1g awd weighed 3040lbs bone stock and auto to give you a baseline.
I weighed a fwd turbo 1g I had years ago and it was 2770lbs stock, too
