Want to sell me your hx35???
Perhaps at the end of the season. It'll get rebuilt (again) before it ever leaves my shop so the next buyer will have a totally fresh turbo.

I just finished a nice HX35 internally-gated in a BEP DSM bolt-on for a guy yesterday; Dave's will look similar but without the actuator and in a .70 a/r T3-flanged BEP housing:

That's not bad, are you ready for the extra lag of the hx40???

Want to sell me your hx35??? :thumb:

Alex

It wont be any different, maybe faster spool, because we are building the motor with some 9.0-1 piston's, ported head, JM fab race intake, and so on.... Might be going to full E85 also..

HX35 will be forsale around November, so if you want it, I will Pm you befor we put it in the classifieds!!!

Very nice looking HX-35, pm me a price to get one rebuilt please.

BTW Nice progress you have made TalonDave. Nice seen some real life results on the holset turbos.

Awesome man I'll appericate that alot. Can wait to see some results next year. Are you going to do a build thread?

No prob.. Yes we are going to do a build thread with lots of pics!! Also going to do a first start up and so on...

jusmx141 what kind of paint did you use on that hx35. Its looks nice, makes me want to gone and clean up my hx40 in my garage.
The cover gets media-blasted and recoated with a silver paint designed specifically to adhere to bare aluminum- the same thing that Shep uses on his transmissions. I only give it one light coat, and this is only done to keep the cover looking good.

If anyone's familiar with running a part that is bare media-blasted aluminum, you'll know it stains and looks like shit again in a hurry. This is my way of preventing the turbo from looking crappy for years to come.

Was surfing Youtube here at work, came across this nice HD vid of Dave in the final round at the Shootout; keep in mind the car was a few hundred pounds heavier and running about 5psi less of boost when this was shot:

Love those blown-out front KYB's!

OMG!!!! I didn't know that they were that bad... The damn thing bounces half way down the track.... Im glad i dont have those anymore!!!!

Ok guys, The car is done for the year. Not going to see a low 11s pass, like i was hoping for befor this year was over. I am pulling the motor out and getting it built this winter and doing alot of other stuff for next year.
The car is getting a roll cage, wire tuck, more fuel, bigger turbo, welded center diff, JMF intake, and built motor.. I'm going to do a build thread, so hoping every one checks it out.. I want the car to run 10s next year, and dyno around 550 to 600hp, hope every thing goes well!!! Thanks...

So, where's the build thread?

Havent started one yet!! Once i have all the parts I need I will start one.. Don't I have to do a blog?
Found out when i tore my motor down, I had a spun main bearing and resaulting in damaging the crank:ohdamn:

You should do a build blog...I tried it out, pretty cool. Sorry to hear you won't get another chance at low 11's, but, next year you can shoot straight for the 10's. Those front struts were a bit shot, but cool to watch in the vid! Good luck with the winter plans.

Yeah im going to do a blog, just want to have all the parts, so theres no waiting to update with pics.. I did my full wire tuck and can't wait to put my motor back in and check it out!! No more fuse box, and big ass engine harness!!
I mounted the fuse box in the glove box, the only wires i had to reroute, was the head lights and blinkers.. Its going to be so clean looking now:hellyeah:

Awesome man! I'm really interested in that wire tuck. I have no more pigtails for horn, marker lights, headlights, or a/c, washer tank, etc. I'd be interested in how to take it one step further and get that fuse box out of there for a cleaner look and less things in the way overall, so, I'm interested to see your pics and hopefully you can elaborate on some of the way you chose to do it. Is it a tuck only on the passenger side of the car? or even near the alternator and such?

No its the hole thing, i forgot that i already redid the alternator when i put in the alt relocating kit.. The alternator wires come out the fire wall to the alt on the back of the block, so you pretty much wont see those!! The only thing that comes to the front of the car is the headlight, blinker's, and one wire for the oil pressure. It would be so easy on your car, sence your not using the headlights etc, and do alt relocate, you wouldn't have anything going to the front of the car, exsept for one for your oil pressure!!

Ok.....alternator relocate would definitely help clean it up, but don't you have to run a Saturn alternator or something? Also, what about the wire to the fan? So, I guess I'm just missing how this is all done, basically I'd be moving my fuse box to the inside of the firewall on the passenger side, but there are quite a few wires that still run from the fuse box all the way back around to the driver side...I've got to get them all routed inside from the main fuse block on the driver kick panel across to the "engine bay" fuse box then....lots of work, and my car is easier to work on than one with full interior. When I removed all the pigtails for the lights and horn I just traced them to that main harness and removed them where they were crimped with those clips that the factory used to splice the whole thing together. For whatever reason, I have no dash lights anymore, I guess by removed those pigtails I disrupted a circuit maybe, or maybe a pulled a fuse, I forget. I'm wondering if alot of the wiring that I left in the car can be removed as well, as in they aren't doing anything. I used to be pretty good with wiring, I guess I need to get the electrical manual out and see whats what if I can and then maybe some more weight can come out at the same time........

No you can get a relocating kit for the stock alternator! For the fan, I redid it a while ago cause i was having problems, so that is already done! The only things that go out into the engine bay from the electical harnes is, 6 wires for headlights, 6 wires for blinkers, 4 wires for the corner lens, 1 wire for oil pressure, and 2 wires for the fans that I have ran to a switch.. All that is ran in a wire loom on the driver side fender well!!
Now for the alternator, i have 2 (10 gauge) wires for the power, and 2 wires that I ( dont know what they do) that goes to the alternator, ran through the fire wall, right behind where the alternator is located on the back of the block..
Now on the passenger side in the hole where the A/C use to come out, I have the main power wire for the fuse box that goes to the battery going through there.. Thats it for that wiring harness, the rest is where the heater core use to be mounted on the fire wall and the fuse box is in the glove box!
Now for the other wiring harness for the injectors, cas, tps, etc, i just started on, so no real idea with what im doing with that yet.. Have to extend alot of wires on that to hide under the intake manifold..
Im going to take some pics tomorrow so i can give you a better idea on what every thing looks like..

Sounds good......I still have all the main wires running under the radiator from the fuse box in the stock spot and then coming up in front of the alternator runnin over to the driver front fender well....so I've got quite a bit of work and the stuff all over the firewall is still in stock spots as you can see:
