1G logger not working

Ok so i just ordered a new cable from DSMparts and apparently i ordered the wrong end so i go down to the local radio shack and buy a serial cable that will convert the female end to male end, but when i hook it up to the diagnostic port and start the car neither one of the programs will log and i have tried everything i can think of. If anyone has any information on this please post. I have a V series palm with mmcd and tunerstein loaded on it.

sounds like you have a laptop cable and not the palm one.you need a null modem adapter,not a gender changer.

Actually he needs both or a male to male null modem adaptor.
Right now it's not working because pins 2 and 3 need to be swapped along with the change in gender.
