My turbo OEM T2566 finally got terrible shaft play causing all the blue smoke out the exhaust. I decided to replace it with an upgrade EVOIII 16g 12 psi default. I followed the forums for what should be done to accommodate this turbo ie. New plugs, wires, oil and filter, silicon tubing, cold air intake ect. Got everything back together and run the motor at an idle to get her up to temp. At this point checked for fluid leaks, which I found none. I took her out for an easy spin and thought everything is OK. Did not hear much spooling so we gave it almost full throttle and wow she had huge power. Came home after 5 minutes of fun and returned home. I left her idle and as I checked for leaks again and did not find any. But now I here the ole knock-knock. This motor is original never before had any mods. This motor has 125k miles. Did I kill this worn out motor with this new turbo? I pulled the valve cover then removed the spark plugs and noticed oil saturation on top of three of the four pistons. I am going to replace the pistons and bearings, check my valves ect. Am I overlooking something else before it happens all over? Thanks for you professional help.

Sounds like she needs a rebuild. Personally with a motor above 100k mark id rebuild before adding power, some people will say diffrent but its just my opinion. Did you have a boost guage hooked up? I know you said you had a 12psi spring but id deffinitly want to make sure..

There is way more involved here than just replacing some parts. I would give this a good reading and if you're still unclear have a professional do it for you otherwise you're going to be right back in the same boat again.

No sir no boost gage, just original stuff.how can you back off boost if the sring is already set? buy smaller spring actuator? I would like to back off the spring which the turbo purchased was stated default 12psi. I'm not trying to out run Mr. Sheppard, just want to drive the car. guess this turbo really squeezed the last life out of her. === I would think my other trusted "95BLACK" DSMer is on the write track in, take it to a reliable tunner for the fix. I did a GREAT job on the turbo replacement but stupidly not knowing that the ole girl could not deal with the new Power. Love DSMTUNNERS! Thank you so much for your replies.

i agree with the sikness if your gonna turbo a motor with lots of miles its better to rebuild or build it up first cause its only a matter of time but things give out

Yes Sir! I don't have the tools , building, or the know how to do such a big job and make it right. I will be looking for someone to do the job and ill pay for parts. Crunched for needing my car as I work long hours and would rather pay a fellow DSM tunner before I pay a shop if their is someone who could use the money or trade . As for now it will sit untill I get some pro help. Look at it in my eyes, need my car, need it done with DSM territory, willing to pay for the best! DSM Tunners. Hope I'm not violating the forum rules.
