Well i have 91 gsx with the check engine light on  pluged in my logger and its the knock sensor. I swapped it out like with another two sensors that i have and still the same thing. I cleared it with the logger and it pops up again. When i am driving it will go to 9 counts of knock and no higher. This is becoming a real pain in the a**. I swapped out the ecu with some others i have laying around same thing. Well i guess its something with the wires or something. My question is what if i just hardwire the knock sensor straight to the ecu like http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=174864&highlight=HARDWIRE+KNOCK+SENSOR. Didnt see that much response on this so dont know what to do. Can any one help me out...
Thanks in advance...

What were you doing with the car just before the CEL came on? Are you sure that the knock sensor isn't too loose/too tight? Try following the wire in the harness to see if the insulation is cracked or cut. Could also be a problem inside the ECU, but I'm not sure how you'd go about verifying that.

Check your wiring harness for shorts. The knock sensor wiring going into the ECU get's bundled up with a bunch of other stuff. I had that same problem when I was replacing my intake and got the wiring harness for the MAS pinched under the aircan. It caused a short that trigged the CEL for the knock sensor, mas, and tps sensors. Have you pulled anything out of your engine lately?
