My dsm chips stage 3 chip with no lower hc 8250 rev limit 450 injectors o2 reading
professionjally installed and socketed

Wont start exactly how that says
turns over but never hits spark or fuel not sure what

I've tried putting in the original eprom. works starts runs all good
but 115 for a chip and its not starting?

anyone have any ideas what could be wrong? Possibly the chips bad? perhaps not enough air to start?

I drive a 91 tsi manual with 450 injectors a no lower hc mas k&n and some piping upgrades

If the chip was installed backwards in the socket, it burns up pretty much immediately. I don't know if this is what happened to you, but it sounds like the problem is in the chip itself if you can plug back in the stock eprom and have the car start up. Have you contacted Jeff (keydiver) about this?

I havnt contacted jeff yet i wanted to see if it was something else first

and the chip was installed correctly each time

what is the correct way to install the chip? It looks as though it will fit in either way? Is there any marks to know what is the correct way?
thanks, Andy

there's a notch in both the socket and the chip
they have to be lined up on the same side
or it'll fry
quite simple design really

ok, I see the little notches that are on the chip and the socket that came with it. The problem is that I bought my ecu used with the socket already in place. The socket is a little different than the one that came with the chip and doesn't have the identifying notch. Is there another way to tell the correct placement?
thanks, Andy
