It sucks that the track was hosed in the left lane and they made people run anyway. (Did anyone notice that the next two cars got squirrely in the exact same spot?) He was easily pulling the Evo on one of his smoothest and fastest runs of the weekend.

It's his best time yet though, and he keeps getting stronger. I'll be watching him take it with authority next year.

I understand that the dude literally hosed the track with the contents of his cooling system (if I remember correctly, it was a car that had already won the race due to a red light, but continued to beat the snot out of his car anyways), BUT the other racer's safety should NOT be jeopardized for the sake of getting the event finished.

Maybe the track seemed good enough at that point, but when an all wheel drive car on slicks gets sideways right after something like that, I think it should be scrutinized a little closer.

That pass looked like it was going to be something to remember too!

Nope. Relatively small single. I know he was on a 67mm last year...not sure what he switched to.

I know I'm going to be criticized for this.

However Norwalk can prep a track. They went from IHRA where the east coast used to run Bracket Finals to an NHRA facility that houses top fuel cars. The facility is TOP NOTCH!

What isn't top notch are the cars and young racers. Lets be honest, the average DSM and now the Evo platform is a fluid dripping mess. Guys just can't keep the fluids in the car!

You can't expect the event organizers to shell out thousands upon thousands to re-prep the track after every class. You get the surface that the racers in front of you leave behind. When racers start to show a little courtesy instead of staying in it till "she burns the #### down" then you'll continue to have these problems.

Thanks for all of the kind words guys. I'm currently running a Forced Performance T3 99HTA turbo. This turbo is kicking the shit out of any single turbo I ran previously. This unit clearly has 7s in it, I can't even imagine what would happen if I ran a T4 105HTA on the car. I might have to try it.

I noticed on one my slips from an aborted run (traction) when I got home that the car went over 140 mph in the 8th in the first round. I can't wait to do that again on a full pass. The 8.61 pass was only 134 in the 8th since I had just turned it down in an effort to avoid getting knocked out when the car loses traction down track. The car should go quicker in the next few weeks.

Dan, I'm certainly not going to argue with that. I've been complaining for years about this ridiculous trend among DSMers (maybe all import racers) that see blowing up on the track as some kind of badge of honor that needs to be achieved with no regard for racer safety. My only suggestion (for many tracks and events) is to run the fast cars after track prep, not brackets or some other class that doesn't need it as badly. Street tires tear up any prep the track does, no matter how good it is. Slicks don't. There was also a dangerous spot in that left lane for Q16 cars, especially RWD cars, that would not have affected any of the slower cars. I wish they had fixed that spot. Word on the street was that some of their equipment was broken at that point and they couldn't prep it properly. Video of that run will show it. Had I been given lane choice, I would have taken the right lane. This is racing though, and one of the reasons the fastest cars don't always win. I go to my local Wednesday track rentals where I never have issues with traction to avoid the pucker factor, I'm too old for that shit.
