I got my IC on and all that crap and drove around but my pipe towards the driver side rear (half of the u bend i cut) keeps blowing off, so I have to bead that or something, this town is lame and nobody sells t-bolt clamps here.

I set dsmlink to throw a CEL at 220deg. cuz it never goes higher than 210. and well it was throwin a CEL off an on the whole way home but my temp guage never moved. I havn't hooked up my pass side Spal slim fan yet so I'm running w/o a fan on that half, but since its like 30deg out and raining, I figured it wouldn't overheat, but my overflow container went dry and my radiator ran almost completely out of fluid. So I duno wtf?

Also I got this problem too: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=165211&goto=newpost

you can get tbolts in town, just got to look around. there is definatly a place with some or the equivalent to holding that pressure

what is a log with a stock t25 going to show? the stock ic does fine on this turbo, I just don't see what its going to show everybody. Did you put an exhuast yet on the car?

THESE ARE NOT JR INTERCOOLERS. THEY ARE JOHNNYRACECAR. TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE. Your picture = JR. Our pictures/ic = johnnyracecar. And also, yes...the JR will support a T04b.

Will a johnnyracecar IC support a to4b?

Yes it should handle a t04b easily. The t04b isn't rated at a hole lot more than the evo3 16g.

As far as useful numbers, we're going to the dyno March 12th and I just ordered DSMLink so I should have some lbs/min and other useful logs next weekend, I'll post em all up here so you can analyze them for yourself.

It's just #'s for guys that want it is all, to see what the fmic can do for a pretty stock 2g GS-T @ 10-13psi.

Here is the link to the logs: http://away.homeip.net/dsmpics

I will try to actually do some pull logs soon, but the past couple days have sucked as the way the previous owner mounted the 2 oil senders I have, the fitting between the oil filter housing and the 2 senders keeps breaking off inside the housing, so tonight after being stuck on the side of the road, I decided to rip the stock sender off the fittings and put it back in it's rightful place, so far it has held up nicely. I also had to wire in a Spal fan to keep my temperature below 220deg, which is has pretty much put it back to "normal" for my car (210~deg) I also removed the bumper support and changed the thermostat and radiator cap to see if that would help, and it slightly did. Tomorrow I'm going to check out a hardware store to see about making one of those air dams or shrouds or whatever you'd like to name it to see if I can get the temp down to what you guys claim to have 180-190ish.

id also be interested in seeing if theyd sll just the pipes cause the intercooler from ebay that i got on my car is also very similar and the pipes would bolt up the same too. let me know. i got it installed with some not the greatest custom pipes.

I think ION's piping kit he made up works quite nicely. I only had to get 1 pipe "beaded" and everything is holding togeather just fine, and clearance to the ground is great. In my opinion, I think this little project was well worth it in the end, especially since I CAN feel the difference between the two IC's. I think next I'll do the Wide band before I get the rest of the fuel setup. :)

Do you think that their close enough to size to maybe buy the core, and see if ongreen will sell some pipes?

I had contacted them about this about a week or two ago. They want $350 for the piping setup. IMO that is WAY overpriced. Granted they powder coat it and everything, but I cannot justify spending that much when its not that difficult to make it on your own.

me and my buddy matt (black2Ggsx) will be making our own piping modeled after fwd98gst's and the Ongreen setup for a 3" maft. We are going to try and keep the coupling points to a minumim. Both of us are running 16g turbos (mine is a big, he's got an evo) and are going to run 2.25" from the turbo to the fmic and 2.5" from the fmic to the tb.

Once we get things together and installed I'll post pics, but it won't be for at least a few weeks.

Ya, I'm getting 'great' repore with them :thumbdown anyhow, they won't sell me the pipes so after I get my car running in the next week, I'll go ahead and probably order this with both backdoors.

Post up some part#'s once you get it all out and together, so the lesser of the intelligent (piping) people can follow some of the easier directions, and save some bling from going to an exhaust shop borrowing pipes.

I wanted to go blow thru as well, I already have the maf, need my tial and maft.

Ion's piping setup works with the side outlets perfectly fine and leaves tons of room to go from 2.5" to 3" MAF-T which is great for me :) It might actually kinda work with the backdoor version if you dont buy the U bend and buy an extra 90deg bend (for the driver side) and just clock the pass. side pipes and use 1 90deg bend instead of 2 and it should work just fine...

Thanks man.. I'm really glad you were able to copy my setup.. Yah. you do feel the difference.. but when you get that chance.. try to get the biggest spal fan that RRE has and replace that 870cfm and put that on the AC side and that took care of my overheating.. Dont' know if you still over heating though. but yah.. congrats!! :thumb:

Oh yah.. here's the pics of the two Spal fans in my car.. Passenger Side is the 13" 1360 CFM w/relay and the AC side is the 11" 870cfm... That 13" really blows air and keeps the engine cool.. :)

Thanks 98spydert but I did search mishimoto already, there are only two threads containing the name though (This one and another one with someone asking the same question as mine) I know that there was a thread on Mishimoto intercoolers, did a MOD close it or something?

Well I'll probably get a Johnny Race Car intercooler then since even google can barely find anything on mishimoto

this other intercooler i bought from ebay is pretty nice, made for dsms and short route intercooler pipeing. i noticed a bit of improvement with this compared to my old chraged air fmic kit, the same as the dsm performance fmic with long pipeing and both inlets on passenger side. i run 21 to 23 lbs daily with little to no knock with it , and helps spool my 50 trim simial to my old big 16g. i recommend, and its all ull ever need, up to 700 hp. some say it may be over kill for smaller turbos though.

Do you have any pics you could post of your jpipe to 90' to 180' setup?

I have the normal RRE j-pipe and was curious as to how you modified it so that it would clear the crossmember and fit between the two fans. I looked in your gallery but the only pic really of it is your engine bay and I cannot see much from that one.

I think it would be beneficial to add to the thread for people running 16g style turbos and using this fmic and making their own piping.

TIA!!!

Here are some pictures of my install.

For all of you that are making your own piping... what did you do about all of the flanges? Fab up your own flange for the TB? The BOV flange is easy and cheap to buy, so im not worried about that.. You just using 1/8, or 3/16 steel as a flange for the TB?
