Isn't a 20G rated at only like 4 lbs/min more than the evo316g? It could probably handle that. But I agree, it's a perfect match for any of the 16G turbos.

Yes, I believe that you are right. And it probably would work with a regular 20g setup, but I would guess that a 20g would max out this IC before the turbo was at full potential. 20g's have went 10's in the 1/4 and I would be very impressed to see someone get this core in the 10's.

I am not downing this core, I have one, just trying to look at it realistically.

am i supposed to be cutting a fairly large piece of material out of the metal brace in the middle of the bumper .... or have i put the intercooler to high or something ..thanks

If you are talking about the fiberglass reinforcement (3mph bumper) than yes you have to hack it up. Look back through all the install pics you will see one of where and how to cut it.
 
No this piece is a steel piece that runs the whole length of the bumper , ive seen the 2g pics but not any 1g pics that have any pics of what your supposed to be cutting .thanks
 
Ya you have to cut ALOT of the bumper support out. At least on mine I did. Here is the picture of how I mounted the IC so you can see how far down/up it is compared to yours. I dont have a picture of the bumper support but there is alot gone. I used a Sawzall and it worked pretty well.

I almost feel obligated to buy one after reading this 24 page thread!! Looks like some good buiss for johnny racecar.
 
I really dont feel like reading this whole post so, do you guys think that the 2g kit could handle a to4b turbo?
 
Got my "Ion's 2.5" Piping setup" ;) from RRE today, now I am just waiting on the FMIC. I ordered these pipes 2 days after I ordered the fmic, and have yet to even recieve a tracking # from jrc. It'd be nice if the FMIC came in today too.

No but really, no ones knows for sure. There hasn't really been much testing besides the DSMLink numbers Stoner provided and seat of the pants feeling. Only one way to find out ;)

I'm givin my before and after tho for my t25. and if this guy sells me his super 16g cheap enuf, I'll give ya #'s on that too.

Tyrus replied tonight and also shipped my front mount today. I should be getting it on Monday and hopfully will have it on that day or the next :D

I'm really glad this FMIC is working out for everyone. I say it's one of the most least expensive mods, and most beneficial for the buck. Keep posting them before/after pics and some dyno numbers, if any.... :thumb:
 
If someone would buy my baby honda 5" jr ic I would be getting mine too..
 
Based on this thread, I ordered mine yesterday. Now I just get to get all my piping, etc. Probably will get it from RRE since they're so close...gets here in a day. Now I just need to find someone with a welder. :thumb:
 
I don't know who it was that wanted spool up numbers but after fixing all of my leaks but one (the TB shaft seals leak pretty bad but I'm not tackling that until next saturday) I hit 19-20psi at 2900-3000rpm. Decent response. I start building boost right around 2K.

Mods that probably lower my spool time a lot: blow thru maf, tubular O2, and no cat. I also kept the piping pretty small at 2.25" from the J pipe to the intercooler then 2.5 to the throttle body... don't know if that helped at all.
