/Yeah I've read that before, It's tough to tell technically the oil pan doesn't bump IN on mine, it bumps out towards the back of the oil pan from the front of the car..But you can kinda see it in that pic above, I wish there was a different way to tell.

Yeah, there is, drop your tranny, pressure plate, clutch and have a look. LOL

You don't really want to look at the bump in the oil pan. That is very deceiving as a lot of oil pans are dented.

You want to look at the flange between the oil pan and the front case, just under the crank sprocket. The flange on a 7 bolt has a dip in that area, seen in the picture below. If that was a 6 bolt, there would be no dip, as it would be straight across.

Thanks man! Yeah Ive done plenty of timing belts in my time but always using the handheld spanner wrench for the pulley and using a vise to compress the tensioner. What a pain in the ass! The 3 piece kit is somewhat pricey but sure is handy. :thumb:

Hey JJ I know you'll appreciate this, look what i painted the other day, blue engine enamel and flat black plug and timing cover..How's your's coming along?

One thing that disappointed me was that when I got to finally use me cool new little tool, I gave it a small turn to set the pulley and this happened, not cool: :(
