LOL. Oh man! Thanks for noticing that! I woulve just scrapped it and never noticed it. Ill switch it tomorrow. Awesome.

Steve, I agree with you, I think most 99 came with black interior but I say this because the top is gray but idk

You mean the bottom is gray right? Yeah, it's supposed to be that way. My 99 is the same way where the sides of the center console is gray.

Nice find and enjoy having traction when you get some hp goin' through that 4g63.

What color do you think I should paint it?

Oh and I meant to say that the headliner is gray as well. I'm not really feeling it so I may strip ALL gray pieces in the car and paint them. I want to go for the murdered out look. Haha

painting the interior always lowers the cars resale, and its, idk how to say it. coolness? stock? look? idk. i would just leave it. your lucky enough to have black vinyl, and black leather. i wouldnt wreck it. BUT if you really want to go ahead and paint it black. just dont paint it like electric blue or lime green...

Steve, I didnt know the value went down...if I do it itll definitely be ALL black.

ratack, I plan on going ahead on the HX35 setup. DSM housing with Punishment 38mm recirc housing, ported 2g mani. I already have 850s and a brand spankin V3 that I had bought for my last GST and never even opened. I may keep the 7 bolt for now and run thid setup and buy a 6 bolt short block and build it slowly. But, something always happens and plans change...we'll see.

How does this tell me if it had a black dash?

If the VIN on the dash plate is correct, then it came with the black dash. If it does not match (or it is missing), it is not the original dash. I would venture to guess that most people who do a dash swap don't swap the plate, although it's not a guaranteed way of knowing.

Ohhhh that makes sense. Well I checked the VIN on the dash before I bought it and it matched so I think its the original dash.

Not a bad idea, so what's the plan for today's work?

Well today I plan on switching the strut bar and finish up all the clean up. If time permits, Ill pull off the valve cover, intake, strut bar, heat shield and start prepping it for paint. I have a stock route hard UICP that Ill replace with the stock one but probably will get painted as well. Ill have my GF with me so I may use her to crank the car if I get to doing a compression test, which will get done PERIOD. So pretty much, more cleanup! haha

Well didnt get get much done today because of the weather. I finished up the cleaning up but I think Im going to go over it on more time tomorrow.

I also tried to switch the strut bar to the right position but noticed that it touches the positve post of the battery. It was arcing, so Im assuming thats why it was the way it was. I removed it completely until I can do something with the post. CLEEEEEEAN.

While it was raining I prepped the ssqv for recirculation and installed the 1G bov flange. I really hope it sounds at least half as good. haha

Well all the cleaning was focused on any white sections as well as the visible lines and wires. I didnt bother touching the engine itself yet. The spark plug cover is getting painted as well the valve cover and a few other things. I plan on degreasing the block right before I pull off any parts.

haha. Yeah from what I hear this one is pretty old.

Can you send me a link to his thread? Im curious to see what hes going to do with the car.

Thanks for the congrats man.

Yeah I competely agree. After I sold my good ol Eclipse 1.8 and put A LOT of money I find that the owner posted a YouTube vid where hes jumping up curves and chasing geese in some field oh and another one where he tries to drift the car around a corner...who the hell does that to a FWD car!? Smart guy...

Well I finally parked the car in a place where I can jack it up last night and is going to stay there for probably a few days. If weather allows, Ill finally pull off the VC, and prep it for paint but probably not since the weather isnt good enough for paint. If that doesnt go then Ill pull out the UICP and exhaust heat shield and sand it. I plan to do a compression test as well, no matter what.

Oh and dumbass me, it as late last night and decided to move the car to my driveway. I started it and it was running very poorly. I was like What the F! I struggled to get any movement and finally got it to where I wanted to park it. RIGHT after I shut it off, I remembered that I had the intake AND bov OFF from previously!! I AM AN IDIOT...
