2G JDM Version Eclipse 230 hp?

Hi DSM’er

I have the very rare version Eclipse that was imported to Japan from US. 180 speedo.

But mine came with 230 hp and not 210 hp

Was the Japan version imported with different setup of injectors, turbo (14b, 16g or t28) ?

Same injectors and turbo, no real difference mechanically. There’s a few guys on here that know the ins and outs a bit better but if I had to guess they didn’t put all the emissions crap on it that was required other places so they came up with that rating. Not to be negative but to be truthful nothing will feel different at all from the drivers seat and that’s the flywheel rating, throw that or a US spec model on a chassis dyno and they’d be hard pressed to see over 170 (again not being negative but to reiterate it’s a difference so slight you’re not going to notice it from the drivers seat). Good find nonetheless! I take it you’re in Europe and the cars been imported there from Japan?

Just a little correction. It's not 230 "hp". Yours is 220 "ps" (Manual is the one "230 ps"). It's just a catalogue spec though.

Its the same spec as the USDM one my friend has a J spec auto and it differs very little engine wise. You get every label in japanese.

But why is there difference if it is not messured on the wheels? Sorry for might being stupid here

Probably the weight of the torque converter on the flywheel since the teeth are made onto the TC which makes the standard flywheel lighter. Just a guess.
