HX35 - A rear version with Billet wheel

Hi Guys,

I'm a Garrett GT30r user but had serious issues lately after its installation. i couldn't increase boost more then 14psi i tried curing this issue by replacing one part and the other but no cure and the only thing left was the turbo itself now. So due to very nice availibility here i've moved to HOLSET.

I searched a lot in our local market and finally came across a very nice and rear verison of HX35W and purchased it. its a 56mm Billet wheel compressor 7 fins turbo with no shaftplay at all, 12cm2 turbine housing . Here are its details.

I assume this will be a very nice turbo to put on will be flowing around 60lbs/min (as its a 7blade and billet wheel) and will spool quickly too due to 12cm2 housing.

The 12cm^2 hx35 typically spools about as fast as a bolton hx40 and all spool about as fast as a gt30r in a .63 a/r housing. Ballpark about 20psi at about 4K during a 3rd gear pull startign at 2K.

Be sure to read up on the oiling requirements.

Compressor cover is supposed to be changed
thats a hx40 compressor cover, mine is with the turbo guy for polishing etc

what do u think of having a bullet wheel in hx35? Will it help in spool? When shall I expect 25,psi?
I also want to know what is the expected flow in lbs on 20psi?
Has anyone logged it in dsm? Kindly share a log file

i think its easy to find billet wheels now... so i really dont know if it is or not... but who cares... throw that turbo on and let her rip... 500 hp in a car that is only 1800lbs . shopw us that 10 sec time slip

that's not a 1800lbs car, its 2400lbs with two seats and rest in all complete. Its a awd.
I'm hoping to be in late 10s or early 11s with 25psi out of this turbo and 100 shot nitrous, hopefully I will be there.

I don't think you'll need the nitrous to accomplish that goal.

I'm concerned about its spoolup, with the manifold in the pic above where shall I see full boost?

OP- you'll love the hx35. I have a HY35 w/ stock 9cm housing. I get 22-23psi by around 4000rpm and it's got plenty of power. I'm just waiting on a new clutch to turn the boost up.

If you look at how a Cummins would be set up, the front three and back three cylinders are divided with their log type manifold. With a 4 cylinder you would want to do the same. 1 & 2 together with 3 & 4 together.

Doesn't look billet to me. Doesn't even look factory... The blades are so straight..
