yes. you just saved yourself $75.

In the first pic, the "E" in the bottom right of the sticker designates it as having an EPROM.

In the second pic, the rectangular chip with the white sticker on the bottom right is the EPROM.

I'm guessing you pulled this from the '95? Every 1995 turbo car I've seen had an EPROM ECU unless someone robbed it in a past life.

Where in the world do you get your prices? Eproms will go for $200-$250+ all day. Non-Eprom's are $40-$80(max)

P.S. Yes it is an eprom.

if you go ecmtuning, you don't need an eprom necessarily, and if you don't have one i thinks its $75 to do the conversion to it.

so he saved himself $75 if he chooses to go ecmtuning (dsmlink):thumb:

I believe ECMTuning is only able to convert 1G non-EPROM ECU's to EPROM.

I believe ECMTuning is only able to convert 1G non-EPROM ECU's to EPROM.

I don't see an official announcement of their 2G non-EPROM conversion they have been working on and it's not on their site so I think your correct, they only offer 1G conversions.

The current 1G conversion costs $165 or $95 if your buying ECMLink at the same time. That's likely where the $75 came from.

Where? How about a link.

i dont know about a link but he has a shop 2 blocks from my house.... import unlimited i think... it just opened a week ago... for that matter i had to purchase 3 of them... i dont own 3 dsm's but it was a 1/1,000 type of deal... so got 2 stock eprom ecu's and a eprom ecu already containing the ecmlink socket in...!!!! :hellyeah:

Well someone is feeling a little moderaterish today hahaha

well bad news guys. I swaped out my stock ecu in my 97 with the E-Prom ecu from my 95 talon. It wouldnt start. I have no clue why. as soon as i put back in my regulare ecu it started up fine.

And before my 95 talon was down it started and drove fine. Do you guys think it was special tuned before i got it? Why wouldnt it start. I Put down my back seats to see if i could hear the fuel pump when the key was turned. I couldnt hear it. So do you guys think maybe theres a after market fuel pump in my 95 and thats why its not registering on my 97 talon?

Please help me! i dont want this eprom going to waste. Im getting dsmlink soon and i should probably figure this out now.
Thanks guys,
Taran

take off your gas cap and put your ear next to it and have someone turn your car on, just not all the way. that's the best way to hear the fuel pump.

i like the beta versions. cough.

Okay i will try that tomorrow. Say the fuel pump doesnt work with the new ecu. What could be the problem?

And my ecu is still good i think. It didnt smell like fish. At least thats what people say a bad ecu smells like. haha
please more help?

Also did you swap the firing order? 97s need the swap the plugs like this to run a 95 eprom. You want the chart on the right.

I was wondering the same thing.

Could you get a better picture of the upper left of this picture around where the screw goes?
