The best way is to take the screws off the side of the ECU and if it has a chip that looks like it has caterpiller legs and is rather large thats soldered into the board its an E-PROM. The other way that isnt 100% garunteed is if on the sticker of the case of the ECU it has an uppercase E
 
Take your ecu out, and there should be a label on it with numbers and an "E" on it, if it has it then its eprom.
