Hey, I was prepping for the cylinder head to be installed and noticed some ARP Lube on the HKS MLS head gasket. I sprayed some brake clean so it could easily come off. After I wiped it off I noticed immediately some of the Viton rubber coating was removed.

Is this gasket usable or throw it in the trash?
Thanks.

Info: Cylinder Head and Block have been both been machined.

That coating is usually just for extra sealing to compensate block/head surface rough finish. The embossed part is the one would actually seal. I would use copper spray to coat and send it.
Would you completely remove all the Viton coating, then spray the copper spray or just spray it as is?

I wouldn't probably remove the rest of coating. I would just cover with the copper spray as is (but degrease well on gasket/head/block surface). The HKS head gasket has the beaded sealing on each coolant hole independently, so I wouldn't be worried much as long as if the head/block surface finish/flatness is fine.
