I bought my '91 eclipse used from a local dealer and i'm wondering about the engine. I think it's a replacement. It has a red valvecover, blue sparkplug wires and HKS plugs. Also, the factory blow off valve sits upside down, as opposed to rightside up. What's up with this engine?

Actually on a stock intake and UICP the BOV sits upside down. Also they can have different color valve covers. You most likely have a USDM. It doesnt madder really becuase they are the same

Because of my past experiences, I would drop the oil pan and look to see if the engine has the oil squirters on the bottom of the pistons. Make sure they sold you a Turbo engine and not a non-turbo engine with a turbo oil pan...I am not saying that they are jacking you, I am just talking about what has happened to me and the possibilities of it happening to you.
