Ok so I am needing to rebuild my engine due being told that my rods are going out. I dont have the time or energy to do the rebuild all at once so it will take so time for me to do it. I have to do this around going to dialysis and having testing done for a transplant. So my plan is to buy another stock engine and I found an engine for sale that they say is a jdm engine. My quetion is what is a jdm and how do the differ from what is already in the cars?

Its the exact same engine, except if it is from an earlier model evo.

Your rods are going out? You might want to get a second opinion and check your blinker fluid while your at it. What is going on with your engine right now, what symptoms.

Your rods are going out? Wth does that mean? Rods don't just start to go out. You either spin a bearings, throw a rod bolt, or bend a rod, or you could have a bad wrist pin. What makes you think you " have a.rod going out"? Does the car have a.rod knock or make any noise. Can you please tell us your story behind this and maybe we can help you out a little better

I don't think there would be much difference except maybe the intake manifold...however I would'nt trust any engine i can't see in persont

I've done JDM's before - identical motors to the ones you're replacing.

There is the small tradeoff with their price is that they usually carry a 6 month warranty you don't know the actual condition of them.

But luckily, both times have had great success with them.
