Is it OK to unplug your MASS AIR FLOW sensor, because now my car won't start???

you're joking...right?

sorry if you're not...disconnecting the MAF is a big no-no. :thumbdown

I plugged it back in, thats when it wouldn't start, please help me

okay, start from the beginning...why did you unplug it? did you remove it altogether or just unplug the wiring connector?

I was putting underhood shift bearings in and thought it would be easier to take the whole injen intake off with the MAS attached. After I took it off I remembered that someone had told me not to before. I got done with the (pain in my ass) install, and reconnected everything. I went to start my car and it started and ran shitty then stalled. I went to start it again and it just kept turning over and was not firing

yes, make sure it's plugged in all the way and correctly...also make sure it's flowing the right way...MAFs don't work backwards :p

Is all your IC piping connected good? If not, it will cause the same peoblem as having an unpluged MAS. Make sure all the cuplings are one the piping good and tight. Also, check your vacuum hoses.

Checked everything several times. Is there a way to reset my MAS??? or something, pleeeeeeaaaaasssssseeeeee heeellllppppp? I don't understand

Disconnect your battery and leave it disconnected for a little while then reconnect it. That should reset your ECU.

I did that for 20 seconds, wasn't that long enough if that was the problem, cause if so I am stumped

sorry didn't see the last post, I'll try

I got nothin. Has anyone ever heard of this happening????

Vacuum lines, but there all back in place

Take the plug off and look inside of it. There should be an orange rubber gromet. Make sure it is set in the right way and then replug it in.

What problems come with unplugging your MAS anyway????

Sure the right hoses go to the right places? Is there just one you might have missed or accidently disconnected when doing the work? All I can say to do is disconnect the battery, remove the intake and ic piping and check from there and work back up. Check every single hose and connection possible.

My friends WRX did the same thing when we installed his aem intake. Heh...It was because the MAS was put on backwards. Might want to make sure its on the right way and all that jazz.

Hoses are all in the right places, no bent prongs, and the mas wasn't disconnected from the intake assembly so it can't be backwards
