hi, i was wondering if it would be ok to remove the metal mount that goes from the throttle body to the cas on 1g's?(it kinds looks like a wishbone)
thanks for the help

Yes and no. If you don't have it, you need to stick either washers in there or use 4 studs with nuts to hold the throttle body on.

A buddy of mine thought he would take it off and not use washers. He ended up putting his bolts right through the manifold and cracking it. :notgood:

it is pretty easy to screw right threw the mani-

short reply = NO you dont need it -

Most people leave it off if they go with an upgraded UICP that includes a TB elbow and bolts to match. Thing is, don't forget to put a 'spacer' nut on the rear CAS bolt. Previous owner of mine just tightened the nut down until he ran out of threads; totally f**ked the CAS, flopping around like that.
Added a thick nut underneath (serving the job that a number of washers would, but without the potential to loosen as easily) and it holds in place just fine now. :)

The 'wishbone' is one of your engine hoist mounts, just by the way. If you ever plan to pull the engine, it'll be a lot easier if you leave that piece on.

hahahaha thats what i did when i got my talon...

I can't move my cas around even if I try, and I think I just left that nut off. There are two, and the other one was tight enough for me.
