I just insalled a supra pump in my car. I know I hooked the pos and neg wires to the pump right but the car wont start. Anything I can do to figure out the problem? Does it take a while to prime the pump?

you could always run power right to the POS (+) wire on the pump and see if it turns on. Are you sure the pump is grounded? When you say doesn't start, do you mean like cranks and does not fire? Did you rewire the fuel pump (this one or the stock one)? When you turn the key on (not start, just to ACC) do you hear the pump come on? Please elaborate...

*edit* I see you have Link, you can use that to turn on the pump without touching the wiring. I'm thinking the pump just isn't grounded, but I could be off.

I haven't rewired this pump. What happens is when I crank the car it starts for a quick second then shuts off. Don't know if it is just burning the gas in the lines. If I turn the pump on in link does that flood the engine?

As stated above you should be able to hear the pump turn on in the ACC position before you actually crank the car over. If you can't then you have some kind of wiring problem. If it does turn on you could always pull the feed line off the rail ans see if your getting fuel in the lines when you crank it or check your AFPR gauge. You'll need a buddy to help obviously. If the pump turns on, but your not getting fuel then you probably have a problem with your pickup.

If you turn the pump on in Link it just pressurizes the line. The fuel injectors aren't opening so you won't be putting an actual fuel in the engine.

I see you have an AFPR check it just to be sure it's set at the right pressure.

Wrong. If you turn it to ACC, the fuel pump will not turn on. That is for 1g's only. 2g's you have to crank the car for it to build pressure.

Just use the DSMlink to turn on the fuel pump relay and listen for it to run. If it does not turn on then start checking to see if there is power to the pump with a volt meter. If there is no power then check fuses and relays.

No you will not flood the engine as the injectors will not pulse without a CAS signal.

Its like that for 1g, too:cool:
Did you properly seat the pump in the line with the o-ring? If its not seated properly it may take it awhile to start/build pressure or not start at all. Or the oring is bad?

I'm installing a supra pump as well, but installed new injectors, and new afpr, at the same time. I noticed the supra pump, when installing the spacer, o-ring and cap, there is a little tiny gap in between the o-ring and cap, I don't believe that gap was there in the old pump. Do you guys recommend using two o-rings to take care of the gap? Or is the gap there for a reason? Would really like to know this! Thanks!
