Is it cool to put a/m cam gears on nearly stock car?

dude my chic got me some cam gears and I want to show my appreciation and put them on, but my car is nearly stock.

Just exhaust
hard i/c piping
hard intake
re-wired fuel pump


Can I just put them on and not mess with the timing? Also what kind of gain if any will I see?

They're all in all a complete pain in the ass if you don't know what you are doing. There is no real "easy" way to install them without messing the timing up. One thing about DSM's... Do it right the first time, or you'll regret it down the road when it starts to throw it all back in your face.

I suggest hitting up www.vfaq.com to take a look around. head to the engine section and look for timing belt, or find a reputable shop to do it for ya

adjustable cam gears are best tuned on a dyno.... so unless you're going to go pay for some dyno tuning time, I'd wait on it, as your performance will most likely suffer more than it will improve.

If you can have it tuned, you should beable to get more power out of the stock cams, but like they said without tuning its not worth it.
