been there, done that- Its hard to find the right kind of nozel(sp?) to spray your i/c with. On my car I'm using 2 misters from a drip irigation system, but it sprays way to much water on to the i/c. I think its that the washer pump is has alot of volume but not much pressure, and we need the opisite, along with an expensive mister nozel. If you want to try this out its not hard- all you need is some 1/4" tubing, a one way aquarium valve(to break the syphon when you turn off the system so it dosen't drain your tank) and the nozel(plus I wired in a switch so i could just flip it on instead of holding down the button).

When I first started making intercooler sprayers I used water. but didnt like the fact that I could not use it at the track because they really dont like water on the strip.

I have seen dyno sheets from intercooler sprayers. They didnt give those numbers at all. I think what ever intercooler was being used was not doing a good job of cooling the air at all. Thats why it made such a huge jump in power. Look at the issue's in turbo where ther beefing up the 4g63. they had a spearco intercooler on it, and also used a intercooler sprayer. they only got something like 7hp to the wheel.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Took the words right out of my mouth. If that guy is on the stock SMIC, it's heat soaked so bad that if you even pissed on it, he would probably gain 25whp.

Dyno's are NOT the place to test IC sprayers.

We saw about 35whp spraying ice water on a stock Supra SMIC with a friends To4S turbo equipped Supra making 497whp. It was heat soaked BAAAAD.

I agree- when summer rolls around I will be buying one of your i/c sprayers- right now with it being about 30 most of the time, heat soak isn't a big deal. Shit, my i/c water mister hasn't worked for 6 months, but I've just been to lazy to fix it- and it never seemed like the mister did anything other than run my tank out of water. I was just letting anyone know, that if they wanted to try to make there own mister, its not hard and dosen't cost much- but then again I could never feel a difference.

Hey Twitch, will your kit work with a bottle of nitrous. I have an NX single fogger kit that I'm not going to use on my car. But I would like the use the bottle with one of your sprayer bars for my front mount. Will it work?

Yes it will work just fine!:D but dont tell NX that :shhh: and even better you can fill the N20 bottle with c02 because its a lot cheaper than n20 e-mail me if you want to talk buisness:thumb:

I want to run a Co2 sprayer on my car, but I don't know how safe it is driving around with a bottle all the time. And I would also like to mount it in my glove box, would this be a problem. Keep in mind I know nothing about Co2, and am going to build my own spayer kit. So if anyone thinks this is a bad idea, or a safety concern I would really appriciate the feedback. I don't want to die for another 5 to 10 horse.:(

LOL, i asume you mean for your IC... well uhh unless you just sit in your car and open like a 20 oz bottle with no ventilation your fine.. and then the only reasion it would kill you is becouse theres not enough oxigen to breath..

um far as safty goes yea i think the glove box is fine just rune a steel braded cable down to your IC..

the only posible safety issue i can see here is if you were in a wreck on the right front side at high speed and someone was in the passanger seat... they might get a face full of Co2 which in that event would be likely to do some damnage to skin and eye's.. from being frostbit/frozen..

co2 bottle can hold 20,000+PSI before the co2 tank goes. There is a built in burst disk. Co2 is safe! Dont worry about it. glove box is a good idea.

How much does twitch charge for all his stuff. I guess I need about a 20 oz bottle, 6 or 8 feet of braided hose, and a brass bar bent into a square with a bunch of holes drilled into it. I don't think it would be very hard to do myself, but if twitch has a good price I'd go for it. Please let me know if I forgot anything. I don't even need a solenoid valve, I can just use a stardard rotating release valve on the bottle, and reach over and turn in on when I need it.

thats 2,000psi not 20000 twitch. i had a paintball tank go off in my car after the michigan monster game at hell survivors and it FILLED the car with white smoke. i could see ok, so i just pulled over and looked at my frozen carpet

honestly, with the money you would spend on this, you will not get much in the way of results. look into water injection or propane injection. both of which will do better for a lil more.

i plan on doing it just because i am very well versed in anythign paintball and have a bunch of spare parts. mine will have a pressure activated solenoid :)

How long do you have to chill the intercooler for anyway. I would guess about 3 to 5 seconds, and I guess you do this right as your staging.
:thumb: correct!

A bottle of CO2 is much safer than that tank of gasoline behind you. And it wouldn't be tough to set up the CO2 as a fire extinguisher as well.

hahah good point

could you be all "covert" about it and hide it behind the intercooler if you had space? wouldn't it be able to reach the intercooler while racing down the 1320? or would it not be as effective

Well if you had it on while your doing the run...when you go forward it will push the c02 away from the intercooler...understand..so its better and alot more effective when its in front...
