intake question with a front mount

Getting ready to put my car on the road, and it occurs to me I probably cant use a Dejon tool intake or anything like that, where the piping come from the short route it cuts right where an air cleaner would go. Must I get a cheapo and mount it right on the turbo?

Posting a picture would sure help. I've heard of people mounting the intake pipe upside down as a kind of cold air intake system. But post the picture first.
