Intake Pipe

sry if this is a repetitive question but i have an air filter on my gsx is an intake pipe worth buying because there expensive if its just for looks. Or can i keep the stock soft pipe?

Most people that I know leave the regular piping on and just take out the airbox portion and throw a K&N filter on the end. I guess that's the cheapest route that gives good results.

Hard piping isn't just for looks. It creates better flow and insulates better than the stock plastic stuff.

If you don't want to buy a pre-made one you can go to places like Jegs.com, or Summitracing.com and order prebent pipes, with the diameter you need. Then cut them how you need them and have them welded.

The filter is the more important upgrade. Do that first. Any cone filter should be the same, just don't buy the REAL cheapy ebay ones.

About the pipes, a pipe is a pipe really, I bought the ebay 40dollar one and it works fine. Bomz intake or something like that. I recommend it, it has the exact same dimensions as the 200dollar injen.

the hard pipes on our turbo's create better spool up time and combined with a cone filter there is more power because of more air..and also a bit more boost. The boost should go up about 1-2 PSi because of the added features. you can really feel the difference.
