This question is for info on aftermarket intakes. I notice when I took off my stock
pipe that the blow off pipe in there kind of block off air flow. I know the factory did
this to directly push that excess air to the turbo. I could help but think of cuting it
shorter. So with the after market kits are they open or blocking like stock ones.

Thanks

You are correct in the fact that the recirc. pipe is to help promote turbo spool when the bov is released. Many people cut the pipe because it is a huge restriction. vFAQs.com has a writeup in there on how to remove the inner pipe. Aftermarket pipes do not have that inner pipe if it's a recirculated intake.

Thank you for the informed replys.
In your opinion LiQUiDx do you think it would be better for me to mod it?
boostedjay32 what do you mean by cutting the blow off valve?
Is it the inner pipe your talking about?

No problem and the sound doesn't necessarily get louder, but the tone changes. With the pipe in IIRC the BOV will have more of a chirp/whistle to it. When the dump tube mod is done, it creates a more whoosh sound. If you don't have hard piping, you may not hear it as well as you used to. If you don't hear anything, don't be alarmed. The BOV is still performing it's job or releasing pressurized air before it reaches the compressor wheel so compressor surge doesn't happen. :thumb:
