Installing Keydiver Chip

I purchased a stage 3 keydiver chip to replace my dsmlink. Yes, I know dsmlink is better but i dont have the patience or time to learn to tune it.

Anyway, I need to install the chip in my eprom ecu. The only that that I dont know is how to remove the dsmlink chip and place the keydiver chip in. Does it just pull right out?

Yes it pulls right out. Just be VERY careful doing it. Also make sure you put even pressure on both sides or you will bend the fingers on the chip.

The ecu is socketed correct? If so you can put a small flat head screw drive in between and CAREFULLY lift the chip out of the socket.

I suggest using the widest flat bladed screwdriver you can fit between the socket board/chip and gently twist the screwdriver so that it lifts the board/chip up in the socket. Move to the other side to lift it evenly from the socket. It shouldn't take much force to work it out of the socket. You don't want to pry up one side or one end and wind up bending the pins.

I stand corrected, use a wide flat had screwdriver.

That's the way to do it. Just be careful! Last thing you want to do is bend the pins.
