i have a 1995 gst which is all stock right now. it has a stock eprom ecu and im getting a keydiver chip as soon as there selling them again. will this chip still allow me to pass emissions in ca? if not can you put the stock eprom chip back into the socketed ecu?

Their's no reason if your car is pretty much stock why you wouldn't pass DEQ, I've seen people pass with a fair amount of mods and even with out a Cat. (obviously wouldn't pass a visual inspection) And Yes if you can put your stock chip back in if you wanted to... .I see more of problem with your emissions readiness monitors make sure there ready or your car won't pass regardless... .

Im on my phone right now so it would be difficult to give you a link but if you search you can find what Im talking about... if not ill post later.

They are tests the ECU runs on sensors of the money to make sure everything is working correctly, they will allow you to have 2 tests not ready but anymore and it is an automatic fail. I recently failed smog 5 times due to the tests not becoming ready. It is a very common problem with 2g's because of the OBD2.
