DSMcrazy3 said:I would guess the motor was on it's way out already, in order for the gas to leak past the rings and get into the oil period.
true, but 5 ten-thousands out of factory spec isnt that bad.napkinthief said:I started backing all the bolts out of the manifold, and got them all out, but I cant get the big downpipe bolts out. I loosed one, but the other one wont budge at all. I soaked it in about half a can of pb blaster, 10 times 30 minutes apart. It just wont go, I was thinking of filling a plastic cup with the blaster and taping the cup under the manifold over night, but I just dont think its going to come out. what else can I do?
napkinthief said:EDIT I just found my acetylene/oxygen welding torch. I have no clue how to use this thing, anyone got a link to a guide for it or something. I am going to try to use this to weld up my downpipe....sad me.
napkinthief said:I already tried that. I went there when I was still n/a and asked him for a 3" exhaust all the way back, he wanted 600$. I told him I could get a greddy for that price and he said ok go get one and pretty much kicked me out.
I was planning on getting all the parts that came with the welder, putting them aside and using the tips and wire I have already. So when I return the whole thing, all the parts they included with the setup would still be there.
Anyone live in my area, Bergen or Hudson county, NJ and know of a decent shop that wont rip me off?
pphht, I welded my exhaust together with an oxy-acetylene torch, im just that coolVelocitàPaola said:![]()
That's mostly a cutting torch; it'd be pretty hard to weld an exhaust together with it... wait for a way to have it MIG or TIG welded.
. takes about 4 hours longer though

Size Tnapkinthief said:4 hours on an oxy torch, how much damn oxygen did you use?
330 cubic feet, But thank god I didn't use it all, just a significant amount.
napkinthief said:Ok so if I sleeve the pipes over one another, what else do I need. Is there wire or anything. Do I heat both pipes on the edge or melt one over the other? I have electrode sticks for arc welding I think, but I dunno if I should mess with them. I tried using one and it started sparking and not melting right, maybe I had the temp wrong. My bottles are damn small. 16oz
