Well after buying this 92 talon I am doing alot of things to it. My goals for the car are to be in the 11's and also be able to drive it daily. This weekend I replaced the exhaust mani, with a 2g one and when the rest of my exhaust gets here I will have a 3inch form the o2 housing back. Sadly I torqued a bolt off in the 14b turbo that has 156,000 miles on it. I tried drilling it out but all I did was make the thing worse. So I put it back togeather for the time being and will drive it with 3 bolts holding the turbo to the mani. It leaks alittle but no worse then the stock mani and it's three cracks. I want a turbo that will bolt on to the 2g mani and also to the o2 housing for ease of installiation. I also dont want to spend over 500 bills for it and would be really happy to spend only about 300. Any ideas of which way I should go?

Not going to happen huh? The 16g seems nice. I see alot of them on ebay for 300. I am guessing by your reply that people are not getting to 11's with those. Oh well. I really dont want to go into making a o2 housing and manifold for the t3 style turbos.

I said the same thing when I read it.

Your not going to run 11's with a turbo for $300. There are plenty of turbos that will basically bolt on to your 2g exhaust mani and 02 housing:
16g(I have seen a few members on here with a 16g that reached 11's but NOT many)20g 50 trim. But all of these cost more than $300.

Why don't you try and max out the 14b, there have been members who have ran 12's with it. Try to max out your 14b, then move up to another turbo.

I would like to max it out but with only 3 bolts holdind it on to the mani it probably wont run good. I have a friend that just installed a 16g on his talon I know his turbo had oil problems but could I swap exhaust sides with his turbo? Do I have to buy any seals or anything like that? Also where does the 14b max at? I have been running 16 psi for a few weeks on basicaly a stock setup.

Take your turbine housing to a machine shop and see what they can do...that's if you haven't already mangled the housing trying to get it out.

I know with the 16g and T28 turbos, you can pull the housing off the center section no problem. You have to drop some of the turbos, but some you can pull the housing with the rest in place. I suspect that it'd be equally simple for the 14b, but I'm not sure.

He said he's tried drilling it out and it's worse than before haha. I would assume it's nearly through. He's looking for a turbo to support an 11 sec. car, which the 14b won't. So I'd say forget it.

To get the exhaust housing off a 14b it's quite simple, loosen the nut holding the band tight and break it free, pull it off. Whether it will fit one from a 16g will fit a 14b, I don't know.

I will check it out tomorrow. Wow crazy a wiseman now..... Congrads dude. Back to topic... I was looking around and most people on a stock fuel setup run about 16 psi max on the 14b. I am installing my maft and 3 inch maf along this week and a wideband. I will see where my af is at at 16 psi and work from there.
