im having some acc belt problems

ok so my power steering pump was making some squealing noises so i got it replaced. however it started making a constant low pitched whine after the swap i figured pump is bad so i switched it for another one and i have the same problem. today i changed out the accessory belt , still somewhat same problem.

i tightened up the belt but basically now what its doing is the steering wheel is very hard to turn and it whines when i turn it. its not a chirp , its a somewhat loud groan noise and it happens every time i turn the wheel. if im not turning its quiet.

after installing the pump i filled up the fliud and turned the wheels a good 20 times to bleed air out. can the problem be that its still not bleed out properly? the tensioner pulley looks good, the only thing ive noticed is that if i push on the power steering pulley it moves side to side just a bit and clicks but ive heard this is normal.

Try to hold your steering wheel maxed out to both sides for a bit. It sounds like you are still dealing with air somewhere.

Is the fluid aratered (filled with bubbles)if not then its prob the power valve in the rack (at the press inlet port)

thanks for the responces. well i did the bleeding and filled up the fluid, after a good 20 mins the noise is almost gone. the wheel turns like it should the only problem is that whining noise coming from the pump when turning but its not anywhere near as loud as before.

ive noticed that when i move the wheel all the way to the edge right or left the belt stops, is this normal?


as for my first post
i installed a little piece of the pump withought replacing the rubber band thing and it was leaking which is why it was so hard to steer. so that was stupid of me not to notice but i fixed that.

sorry but obviously im a noob , this is my first time trying to fix someting mechanical on the car. thanks for the help

im not exactly shure if it has bubbles but it has in the past, so many changes ill check and give an update tormorow.
im going to try bleeding it again see if i can make the noise go away completely

If the belt stops when u turn the wheel all the way the belt is loose nd you need to tighten it.

ok this is going to sound wierd but the power steering pump is now working 100% as it should, no noise or anything it must have had air in it and with me just using the car it went away.

on a side note the pulley to apply tension to the accessory belt is wobbly and is making just a little bit of noise, i tried replacing it but damn its impossible cause its so close to the wheel well . i was hoping you guys could have a suggestion of something i might be able to spray maybe to make it have less friction and do less squeaking. i have tried googling but havent found anything.

please dont spray anytin oily on the belt use a crayon and try to touc the inside of the offending belt just dont urt yourself

im not exactly shure what your saying. my problem is the idler pulley is making noise and i dont know how to take it off. ive tried but the wheel well is just too close so it doesnt have clearance so i can take it out. since i cant figure out how to take it out i was just going to try and see if there was a quick fix where i spray something on it to make it not squeak so much. sorry but whats a crayon used for? are you saying to while the cars on put a crayon to the belt and the residue will stick to it and help it quiet down?
