It looks as if my throw out bearing is bad (there's a noise coming from the tranny with the clutch depressed) so I need to replace it. Should I go to the dealer and get a OEM throw out bearing or should I buy an aftermarket one? If so, which ones do you recommend? How much do they cost?

Btw, I got a Centerforce Pressure plate with Clutchnet 6 puck clutch

Mine disintegrated last Sunday boooo They sell a metal sleeved and plastic sleeved throw out bearing. Either one does the same job, but the metal sleeved one tends to wear the shaft in the trans it slides on. I'd recommend the plastic sleeved one.

I did do a search, I just wanted to confirm. And I can get these plastic ones at the dealer, correct?

Got one last week. But can I drive the car for a while til I replace the TOB? The car is my only means of transportation so I can't really tear it down right now. What's the worst that could happen as a result of a bad throw out bearing?
