I'd be pulling off anything of value. Exhaust mani, good turbo heads, intake mani's, throttle bodies, random sensors (TPS, IAC) Also.. what I look for most, is EPROM ECU's! You can never get enough of those and once I paid $25 for one at a junkyard, tested it on my car, and turned around and sold it for $150.

damn its funny you said about the ECU I checked every car and they were pulled. Also the junkyard near me that was the only 1.8t engine they had and it was damaged due to sludge.

If i were you i would inspect the car in the first pic. 2g cars didnt come with a mitsu valve cover. Also there is a 1g radiator in it. Someone has worked on that car previously. I would pull all the injectors on the cars in the first 2 pics the throttlebody elbow exhaust manni, turbo, o2 housings.. Again the car in the first pic is suspect, i would go over it to look for other mods. The mitsu valve cover is rare itself... Nice find dude, i love junkyard runs...

WTF

Are you sure? Mine came with one, and the previous owner was the original owner, and he didn't mess with much of anything under the hood. I kind of doubt he would have even bother to swap the valve cover... Everything else under the hood was bone stock OEM stuff.

Well DSMs had some weird options from the factory so it doesnt surprise me. Usually the bare metal mitsu cover is from a jdm engine. It just seemed weird that someone put a 1g rad in it which is not a direct drop in for a 2g, you never know... Its the junkyard and anything can be found. I got a set of ARPs and a 255fuel pump, well worth the trip as the yard had no idea what i had. Just looked like nuts and bolts to them...

It was so sad a couple days ago (unrelated to OP's q) i went to u-pull-it and found an eagle talon tsi awd. :barf:  :toobad: I got some nice interior pieces i needed but it had already been ripped apart. (i couldn't even get the passenger door sensor that i needed) When did people start throwing away the AWD turbo DSMs?

I'd grab a turbo for about 50, then get a rebuild kit to bump up the performance. maybe nab a BOV, among other turbo-related parts.

That's the motor I pulled from th junk yard, I fully rebuilt it and its currently in my 1g talon

I did a green and blue color scheme

Running the 16g Turbo 650cc injectors, Apexi safcII , 274 cams

if you look at the 5th picture down they cut an eclipse in half!!!
also the first picture is suspect but if you look closly they did pull the injectors but that is interesting that one says mitsubishi and the other says 16 valve on the valve cover.

the one in the 2nd pic I think I am going to pull the whole engine, it was side swipped, no mods.

but this shit is funny,

One day, on my yard runs, a 91 TSi FWD was just placed into a row - fully intact with complete motor and turbo. It was lightly "t-boned" in the side. I went after the front end plastic and bumper cover. I went out there just the next day to pick more off this TSi and the entire drive train - both motor and tranny - was removed along with all of the glass.

but that is interesting that one says mitsubishi and the other says 16 valve on the valve cover.
the "16valve" is a cover that comes on the GALANT VR4 motors - mine is the same (being a JDM VR4 motor) - where it doesn't show "DOHC 2000" as with the rest of the 4G63 motors.

2G 4g63 AWD or FWD transmissions. I think the 5 speeds are much more desirable than the autos.

What I fancy:
1g Front bumper cover (hard to find in some areas and pricey)
1g 3 piece spoiler
1g flip up motors
1g corner lights
1g door moldings top and lower if they're there
1g side skirts

2g TB Elbow
2g Exhaust Manifold
2g Eprom Ecu (very good profit, look for 95's almost all of them)

Bring a DMM and test/snag up any Injectors, TPS, ISC, MPI fuse, power transistors.

I would scavage all the little things that have been discontinued like miscellaneous switches and buttons and knobs and trim pieces. Along with major items as well. Pretty much as much as my truck can hold LOL.

All my junkyards have 2G N/Ts with gray interior, and they're stripped within a week. I've never seen a turbo DSM in a junkyard here, you sir are very lucky.

Queen city pull a part in clarksville still has the awd tranny in it and there are about 5 more talons there I even saw one with a 6g72 swap , because clarksville is so close to fort Campbell there are a while lot of talons, there are probably 40 plus in the area
