Idle Speed Inspection Question?

alright i'm sure i'm just to most retarted person for asking this but oh well!

My cars been idling extremely high for the past week ever since i changed the spark plugs and wires. When the engine is cold (1500-200) and when it warms up (2000-2800).

I was gunna start working on it and for those of you who have the manual it says to "Insert paper clip from the harness side into the 1 pin connecter (blue), then attach to a volt reader"

Which freaking harness is it talking about?!?!?

Sounds like they are talking about the engine bay harness, specifically the engine speed test connector.

When doing the resistance testing the ignition is supposed to be off correct? My volt reader isn't picking up any resistance on any of the prongs

Yes, I would do it with the engine off. But either way it shouldn't matter as you're testing the sensor itself. So if the engine is on, the sensor is not getting any power since it has to be unplugged to test. If you've tested it properly and you're getting no resistance, then it's dead. Even if one out of the four tests show zero resistance, it's dead.

I thought so...I was worried I wasn't getting a good connection on the prongs. Spent about an hour trying to make sure. If this fixes it i'll be sure to post on here for search results!

Replaced the ISC with a new one and its idling perfect again. Oh for shoppers out there Orielly's Auto Parts has them for 80 bucks WITH a warranty so not a shabby deal!
