My check engine light comes on and i pull the codes and it always says misfire? that last tune was like 4yrs ago.im do for emissions any day now and i wanna be sure i pass. the car did pass in 2007 but its been 2yrs past so im hoping it passes again.

these are my mods:
Forced Performance Green turbo with external dump
K&n fip kit/dejon intake
Tial waste gate
Ported manifold
Greddy oil catch can
Greddy type S BOV
Greddy XL fmic kit with greddy pipes
Greddy profec b boost controller
Greddy boost & Ext guages
HKS turbo timer
Jumptronix air/fuel meter
Hahn 3" Downpipe/Thermal Research 3" exhaust
walbro 255 fp
Greddy Denso 660 injectors
thermal 3" exhaust
PI - dragon torque converter 3500 stall
black spring shift kit
b&m tranny cooler
Apexi S-afc

no fuel pressure regulator
no wideband o2

New ngk bpr7es spark plugs and gapped them .026, new ngk me77 wires,new fuel filter and pcv from mitsubishi installed....
Boost leaks and compressions checked at ams no boost leaks compression was fine.

Did you check out your torque converter bolts to be sure they are all tight?

perfect performance rebuilt my trans and i still got that damn rattling noise i dunno wtf it can be but perfect said def not the trans i mean they rebuilt the torque converter and still making the same ###en noise?

Is it making the noise all the time, park & drive?
Obviously could be many things loose on the car
Dare I ask if your crank pulley is wobbling?:|

How is the tranny shifting? Are you happy with it?
 
i dunno what it can be i gotta have a shop lift it up with the car running....

the previous owner said the noise is a characteristic of the precision industries "dragon" torque converter. The noise is the lock up converter...

but i dont believe it since the converter was rebuilt and its still making the same noise...and perfect performance told me that noise is not from the trans...

I would definitely get it up on a lift!
It's possible that it could be the way the converter is designed:hmm: but I have no first hand experience with PI torque converters. Maybe someone else can chime in on that!

I would seriously look into the Roadsurge shiftbox to enhance your tranny even further. The 100% line pressure shifts seem to be good for the clutches because it causes quicker shifts and less slip!
I was using something similar that did the same thing and it worked great. Never any issues with the tranny!

Check to make sure the crank pulley is not wobbling for something to look at real quick to make sure you don't have crankwalk
 
also keep getting a check engine light with these codes:
P0303 CYLINDER 3 MISFIRE
P0301 CYLINDER 1 MISFIRE
P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

i replaced all of the spark plugs 3 weeks ago and gapped them at .026 ngk bpr7es and put new ngk me77 wires so i dunno wtf is wrong?
 
i am having this same code p0304 #4 random misfire i am gonna talk to my sisters boyfriend blackhawktsi he seem to know quite abit about this he has a mid 10 sec talon when i get it diagnosed ill let u know what it was:thumb:

Kool let me know what's up... I keep getting p0300 p0301 p0303 that's the only problem I'm having with my car the damn misfires...

I put new plugs in and still misfires but I gapped them at .026 so maybe I should try .028 I dunno?
 
If the car has 122k original miles and your temp is at those degrees, I would change to a thicker oil if possible. Don't know if you can get 20w50 in synthetic. If you can find an oil agent that thickens the existing oil that is compatible, meaning synthetic based.

That too thick claim is bogus. I would question if they understand the numbers on the oil. Again, bump up to the next weight in synthetic.

Come again? Did you just recommend 20w50 since it's getting cooler outside?

OP, your oil has absolutely nothing to do with your problem. 5w30 Mobil 1 works year round with absolutely no problems whatsoever. You most certainly don't want to go any thicker than 15w50 - that is crazy talk.

You most certainly don't want to add anything to your oil to thicken it, or otherwise. External chemicals interfere with oil - you don't want to add a thing to your oil, ever. Things like Lucas Oil Stabilizer causes oil to oxygenate. You can research on bobistheoilguy.com for more information.

That too thick claim is far from bogus... you can indeed use too thick of an oil and damage your engine.
