idle when in Park

I just bought a 94 Talon TSI and it runs perfectly. I did a search and couldn't find anything like my problem. When its in Drive it idles fine (around 750RPM according to my SAFCII) but after I drive it for a while and stop and put it in park the idle surges from 1200-1400 going up and down but once I turn off the car and turn it back on the idle surge has stopped. I honestly don't know what could cause this and being that this is my 1st DSM I don't know what to check.

there are a few different threads on similar issues. Try using different ways of thinking about your problem or just keywords....just some ideas. Anyways there are lots of things that could be wrong. Boost leaks, vacuum leaks are usually the most common. The BISS screw on the TB could have a dried out and leaking o-ring. (that was the issue on my car). But I would look through all your vacuum lines and make sure that none have cracks and are leaking as well as if all are connected. second do a Boost leak test if you haven't yet. if you are still having problems after that post back and then we can help you some more.
